They were well prepared for NIL and the new rules. While many were lamenting the changes and living in the past, the Buckeyes targeted their needs and spent the money.

As a Tide fan, it's kinda weird being on the outside looking in. Normally, I'd be pulling for an asteroid strike on the stadium in a game between these two Yankee schools, but the Irish QB is from Mobile, so go Irish! Never thought I'd say that.

It’s really funny actually.

OSU has lost a TON of top recruits to NIL early on in 2023. They figured it out in 2024 and instead of investing in tons of new players they spent it to retain players

I hand it to them that they kicked our arse, and did a good job at kicking it. If they beat Notre Dame we will have lost to the eventual National Champions.

I think the Vols are doing well at the NIL too. It is a crazy business right now. I love it.

45% of their students are not from the North. 21% are from SEC country. Truly a national/international school.

I think something to remember about NIL and Midwest teams like OSU. We aren’t spending the kind of money on a baseball team that it takes to win the SEC or CWS. We can funnel that 8-10 mil to football.

And ND can funnel all that TV money to football…

Just a matter of time before yall do. One of the largest alumni bases in the country can afford to be good at everything.

You’re right.

But there is zero interest in college baseball in that part of the country. It just does not resonate.

I don’t see it ever being prioritized to the same degree as SEC schools.

Oh ffs.... everyone, here's your typical Alabama fan wishing for the deaths of thousands because they didn't get their way

Get your stories ready about the good ole days for your kids and grandkids. Y'all are back to the Shula era

Yeah they did a good job this year with NIL, AND poaching our players during our coaching change. They aren't where they are without them

That is an "I don't like either team" cliche.

It is never meant to be literal.

Yeah everyone is bitching about the playoff format and the seedings and the fact that the regular season and the conference championships… IMO those games are going to disappear sooner than later especially after the playoffs go to 16 teams … have been somewhat devalued and how losing a regular season game doesn’t destroy your chances like it always has and how we should go back to the sainted BCS.

But that is college football now and no amount of fans bitching on message boards will change that. Ohio State is the model for success moving forward.
