B1g football really is boring.

Just couldn't take not having Bama games anymore

wasn't my favorite color guy ever but can't argue against him being one of the faces of SEC football for a long time. travel in the Big 10 couldn't have been attractive for someone in their 70s

Apparentely, those Illinois vs Iowa marquee games every week were a little more strain than he anticipated.

I have always liked GD as an analyst. He was smooth, knowledgeable, and likeable. I know SMALL percentages didn't like him but that's human nature. Not real familiar with his replacement but I would have preferred Todd Blackledge.

Agree with you. Danielson was really good but he told the frank truth. If your team was sucking, he did not mince words. He was always well prepared and he knew his stuff well.
SEC messed up royally when they let CBS go. Production ran circles around ABC/ESPN.

Agreed. The hate that he gets is completely off-base and irrational.
He will be sorely missed.

Well he couldn’t find another dick to duck off after Saban retired. Good Riddance

I don't mind him if he's not calling Alabama games (in those he slobbers way too much)

One year of Big10 football and dude says to hell with this, life is too damn short.....

I always enjoyed Gary. Growing up in the mid 2000s hearing his voice along with Verne’s was what made CBS magical.

There are 1000's of high school football radio guts that could see that play coming. You people act like he has more football knowledge than guys like Jimmy Johnson, Saban, or Keith Jackson.

Only a clueless lunatic makes that statement. Which is typical of Auburn fans.

He's being compared to the field. Most college football announcers speak like they've watched ten games of football ever.
Is Danielson the most knowledgeable sportscaster ever? No. Does he know the game better than 90% of the other CFB announcers? Sadly, yes.

Once a receiver caught a ball ran 20 yrds fumbled the ball after getting hit but recovered his own fumble.
Gary called it an incomplete pass.....
