The stretch from 2004-2007 were truly epic.

2004: #14 Auburn 10, #5 LSU 9
2005: #7 LSU 20, #16 Auburn 17
2006: #3 Auburn 7, #6 LSU 3
2007: #5 LSU 30, #18 Auburn 24

Every single one of these came down to the last few seconds.

just an absurd stretch there.

people getting blown up constantly all over the field.

Schedules are fricked this year.

No Georgia, Florida, or Tennessee for South Carolina but we travel across the country to play Oklahoma, Texas A&M, and Alabama. Thanks SEC.

Even though we loss (19-15, two point conversion gone bad as LSU scored 2 points), this was a strange game. The day the barn burned.

Grew up as an LSU fan with AU being our biggest game every year it seemed. Tubberville & Brandon Cox era. Good times.

The Auburn - LSU football series has so many great memories for our family. It is terrible that it will not be played anymore.

Gus, I may be arguing with you on another thread, but I am completely with you here. My family is all AU alums but we had kids that were at LSU for a period of time. We went to Baton Rouge often and really grew to love the place and met some great friends there, it is a special place.

I am sorry about your brother-in-law.

What a series we have had.

We've had some wild ones, and it's been fun. Until we meet again.

It's a damn crime what BHam did to our schedules.

I knew as soon as Chokelahoma and the Shortwhorns were added that a lot of games us SEC fans enjoyed and have grown accustomed to watching every fall would be no more. College football, as those of us 40 and over have known it, is dead.

2006: I still haven't figured out what the penalty at the end was about. Or can't remember.
2007: Almost had a heart attack on this one.

Weirdest thing about this series is the home team had a genuine advantage. Auburn just recently finally won their first game in Tiger Stadium since the 90s. JHS is the most underrated hostile environment in the SEC.

I lost my brother-in-law, who was one of the finest people I have ever known, two years ago.

His biggest passion in life outside of God, family and friends was all things LSU.

Losing him is a void that can never be filled.

Losing the LSU game as an annual event now makes that void even bigger.

Why on earth would 2 people downvote this?

Hail, they took our Aday game and our LSU game.

They are trying to make us as irrelevant as Syracuse.

We need to knock someone out.

I’m an Auburn fan and alum. However, one of my favorite crazy moments was in the mid 90s (maybe 95) when Auburn visited Red Stick. Auburn has the ball and is next to the LSU student section. Some crazy assed drunk LSU student had a whistle in the stands, blew it, Pat Nix thinks the play has been blown dead and takes a sack - might have been a safety. I was freaking pissed, but thought it was pure genius by some random LSU student.

Then the bar burner! Damn what a great annual matchup being lost to time.
