I say at least 6-6 and at best 8-4.
There are a lot of question marks for most of the SEC East teams so anything can happen.

They were not favored against Vandy last year so they shouldn't be offended.

Will be a bit more of a home field advantage this year though.

5-7 worst, 7-5 best... Decent 1st string talent but no depth. Rodgers play at QB & injuries will be the key...

I'd say they go 6-6 with wins over Northwestern, Pres, Umass, UK, OM and wake forest.

Tennessee is a possible toss up along with Missouri.

Trust me when I say this: Every game on the schedule is winnable for maybe the first time ever. You will see a much improved Commodore offense and the schedule works if they can avoid the injury bug.

X-factors: Season opener. Will the season opener against South Carolina set the tone for the season?
The word is out. How will Franklin adjust when his team won't sneak up on anybody?
Flip two outcomes. After playing Florida and Tennessee close on the road, will off-season improvements and change of venue result in two wins?

Aug. 30 South Carolina Nashville LOSS
Thursday Night ESPN, lots of hype in Nashville for the season. Heart says yes, head says no. Cocks should be worried though.
Sept. 8 at Northwestern Evanston, Ill. WIN
Northwestern loses one of their winningest senior classes in history that only finished 7-6 against a B1G schedule last year. Not a tough venue for a first road game.
Sept. 15 Presbyterian Nashville WIN
Even Vanderbilt gets a couple gimmes every season.
Sept. 22 at Georgia Athens, Ga. LOSS
First tough road test of the season, lots of emotion from the end of last years game. Georgia may have too much firepower, but look for Franklin to circle this date.
Oct. 6 at Missouri Columbia, Mo. LOSS
Honestly, just a bad feeling. Don't really know enough about Mizzou.
Oct. 13 Florida Nashville WIN
Outscored the gators 21-9 in the second half last year but penalties killed. If Vandy has improved as expected and Muschamp is still struggling...
Oct. 20 Auburn Nashville LOSS
Georgia, South Carolina and Auburn are the toughest games on the schedule.
Oct. 27 UMass (Homecoming) Nashville WIN
Second Gimme.
Nov. 3 at Kentucky Lexington, Ky. WIN
Road games are always tough, but we'll be feeling good about this one.
Nov. 10 at Ole Miss Oxford, Miss. WIN
Commodores have beaten Ole Miss 5 of the last 7.
Nov. 17 Tennessee Nashville WIN
More hype than this rivalry has seen in a long time. Last year's offense struggled in an overtime loss on the road. Could be a marker for where the program is heading.
Nov. 24 at Wake Forest Winston-Salem, N.C. WIN
If I'm wrong about the season we could be limping at this point making this a tough, uninspired game. If I'm right, momentum alone may be enough to carry past Wake.

8-4 Peach Bowl

It hasn't been a rivalry since General Neyland arrived in Knoxville and Tennessee will destroy Vanderbilt this year.

That is the optimistic way of looking at things. How about the realistic?

Yep. No bowl. Did they change the bowl eligibility to 7 games this year? I think I remember reading that.

The fact you say this seems to indicate it is a rivalry. You beat us in OT, at home, last year. Why the cavalier attitude about 2012? Tyler Bray isn't Jesus. Our loses on D will hurt, but I think the offense will pick up some of the slack.

We WILL be bowling this season, and we just had our best recruiting class in history.

two of the wins against non-BCS.

8-4 at best.

most likely outcome: 6-6 and no bowl, due to two wins being vs the little sisters of the poor.

I love that they have a AA team coming in for homecoming.
