Fromm was there to hand the ball off. Eason wanted to actually play QB.

Fromms passing stats were much better than Easons though. Eason lacked the decision making Fromm had. Eason had the much better arm and that's about it.

Now let’s see if you can hang on to him or if he goes somewhere else and gets them to the playoffs

Don't care how we got em.

Eason handled his situation and transfer the right way, and i have nothing but love and respect for him. You will not bait me into saying something bad about him.

However...

Eason's freshman season was plagued with horrible reads and head-scratching decisions. He left hundreds of points on the field that season (2016) by throwing checkdowns when there were wide open receivers streaking toward the endzone. So we went into 2017 hoping he had been coached up to fix those things, which are fixable. then in the first quarter of the first game, he gets hurt. True fresh Fromm comes off the bench and lights it up. Game after game. Once Eason is healthy a few weeks later, you have to stay with the hot hand. At that point, it's Fromm's position to lose. He never did, until the National Championship. And honestly he didn't lose that game either, he played great. This has nothing to do with Kirby's QB management. That's just SEC ranter jibber jabber.

Similar situation rolled into 2018 with Fields vs Fromm. It was Fromm's job to lose. The only debatable point is when Fromm was having a horrible game vs LSU [very late in the season] and Fields should have been put in. But I can see the flipside to that also, what message does that tell QB recruits, you have one bad game after having 23 awesome games, and you lose your spot?

The UGA offense took off when Fromm went in vs App State and it never stopped, short of the bizarre Auburn loss. Eason was not a fit in Chaney's Drew Breez style offense.

And you think Saban was the very first coach to make HC a coordinator or position coach?

Wow. Just wow.

Recruits take one look at Athens and the U of Ga and fall in love. They want to wear the G and be a part of something special. Georgia has it all. Gorgeous campus, incredible facilities, and a huge rabid fan base located in the #1 college town in the nation.

on the flip side, as you say, it might also suggest to qb recruits that they may not get a chance to prove themselves. Evidently Fields must have felt that way.

Fields was treated no different than Tua was as a Freshman and Fromm finished the year with 30 TD's/6 Ints/68% and ranked 3rd nationally in QBR.

Too bad he didn't have the patience of Mac Jones who is arguably a batter QB than Tua.

Why didn't Jones get more of a shot last year?

Well. Any offensive player following muschamp anywhere is obviously slightly retarded.
