You know... people say the same shite about Jalen Hurts. Every time a defender can square up and pop the shite out of him, he seems to fall away from the hit. I’m sure that’s frustrating as frick for the defense.

Yeah, the team with a QB with a broken arm that you beat only on a defensive score.

Scoreboard says we beat you a lot.

It is funny that Auburn fans believe other teams aren't hurt in November/December. They are the only ones limping at the end of seasons.

Toughen up your team, Nancy. Trent Thompson played hurt last year as did Riley Ridley. We were without starters at ILB, DT, and P.

But only Auburn is playing hurt, right?

From my observations of Mayfield, it is just the opposite. He seems to be at his most dangerous when he is scrambling and the play is being extended, allowing receivers to get open. He is very accurate throwing on the dead run. That's not to say he wouldn't be accurate throwing from the pocket. I think he doesn't see the field as well from the pocket. To me, the way to beat Oklahoma is to keep Mayfield in the pocket and ( I can't emphasize it enough) cover the tight end Andrews. That is his go-to guy on possession downs.

I would try to force Oklahoma to run the ball. That way they can be beaten. JMHO

Oracle,
Great point.

against the blitz Mayfield has a 68% completion percentage and a rating of 200 (fox sports).

They played 3 of the 4 playoff teams?? If Georgia had played a half-way decent schedule, they might have injuries, too.

But Auburn played:

Clemson (#1)
Alabama (#1)
Georgia (#1)
Georgia again.

No one comes out of that unscathed. I understand running downhill against a broken East, Georgia Tech (who lost to someone in the East) and a Notre Dame team who got the shite beaten out of them by Mark Richt and Stanford has given you guys a boost, but it's not nearly as impressive as them beating you, Alabama and keeping it close with Clemson.

Pretty sure that will be our primary goal on D. Keep him contained in the pocket, get to him when you *can* but emphasis on containing him and force him to beat you on designed plays rather than breakdowns in extended plays. Not really sure how you force them to run shy of more men in coverage, but the upside is they've run at a pretty heavy clip (56% or so)...

Nobody was claiming Georgia was very good last year, but that doesn't exactly make Auburn look better.

Serious question, though....Did White play in the Bowl game? What exactly was wrong with his arm? I agree it really hamstrung you against us.

Stop making excuses. Your team was crap this year. You were wrong about your coaching hire. Your new coach might have run your best recruit off (Corral) and you have lost something like 3-4 4* recruits already.

Florida is a dumpster fire. You might recover, but to try to slow play Georgia only makes Florida look that much worse. The team(Georgia) that you want to convince everybody is crap beat your team by 35 points.
So if we are crap and not really very good, what does that say about Florida?

This years injuries? Kerryon was injured. the others happened in our game. Injuries happen. It's a shame Gus didn't have players ready to fill in in case of injuries. Either he simply does not get his team ready to play, or they have no depth. Never mind our first string QB got injured in the first game. While true, it might have actually been for the best, we had depth. Fromm was there and ready to step in and play.
Auburn had nobody ready, apparently.

So was I. All of the injuries I listed were for the 2016 Auburn game.

The point is that every team is beat up in November. Every November. You never hear UGA complain about those injuries because we win anyway against Auburn.

All they have left after this run is excuses and hopes that we don't match their 2010 season with a national championship.

This was a pretty solid post... one would typically assume that 6+ years on a forum with only 5 posts means alter. Now I'm not sure what to think.

I wonder if that's because they are in the Big XII where there are not many great rushing attacks

Did you know that OU has 5 starting running backs in the NFL right now? Iowa State has David Montgomery, a top 10 back, Ok State has Justice Hill, a top 10 back. Top 10, meaning top 10 in rushing this year.

Sorry, but if you guys would just pop your Jim Carrey heads out of the SEC butthole, you might witness good players outside of your conference.

Holy shite you're dumb. *Talent* at running back does not necessarily equate to "great rushing attacks". I gave you the actual average ratings for what they did ON THE FIELD running the ball RELATIVE to the defenses that they played. Not just looking at pure rushing yardage.

If you can't read well, just say so. It's ok... no one will think any less of you than they do now.

ETA: As to monitoring players outside of the SEC... my interests in CFB outside of UGA are in recruiting, so I monitor talented players that go everywhere. I've been waiting to see if Chuba Hubbard would get any runway this year at Ok State specifically (took him in our recruiting mock draft). I've got Robert Barnes, the freshman DB at Oklahoma who I picked up last year. I'm in no way stating that OU has some Division II level roster... but some of the comments that have been made are simply inaccurate and I've provided metrics to back up my position. You can disagree with those stats, but it's not like I came here with a purely emotional response. Just relax man... not everyone is as anti Big XII as you might think.
