They are recruiting a lot better talent but I’m still not convinced the new coach will be given enough time to turn things around.

I really wouldn't be surprised if GT has serious conversations about dropping football altogether within the next 5-10 years.

Some of the posters on their message boards have been worrying about this happening. It could. They are in deep debt and have no real fan base. The few techies who actually show up for their games seem more interested in shouting insults and flipping birds at their opponent than watching the game. By the middle of the third most of these Tech nerds have had enough and left for mommy’s basement or the library.

Georgia fans seem nervous about a potential sleeping giant in Georgia Tech.

Are you kidding me? It’s pretty early in the morning to already be so drunk.
GT is no match for Georgia - or even the Citadel. They are absolutely one of the worst teams in the country. Don’t know why UGA doesn’t drop that game. Only a few old guys older than the hills want it to continue anyway. Tradition be damned. Kick these geeks off the schedule and add Clemson or FSU. Better people and better competition

Nobody, anywhere, has ever said this until you just did.

Are you 13 or something? Because that would explain a lot. We just got rid of the worst coach in our history after a brutal 3 years. But outside of that, one of the worst teams in the country? Hardly. More like one of the most historic. First to win the four major bowls. Three major college football awards are named after people associated with Tech.

Congrats on finally matching our national title count though.

I’m not 13. I’ve been visiting that trash bin y’all call a stadium since the 1950s and as much as it embarrasses me to admit it I have actually had a close relative who attended GT. Every family has things that they aren’t proud of and that’s ours. At least he wised up and now is a UGA season ticket holder.
Winning 9-10 games in 3 seasons and losing to teams like the Citadel and some lower division girls school whose name escapes me seems to shout “one of the worst teams” in the country to me.
We’ve all heard about the “greatest challenge” in college football and your gimmicky coach who was going to make GT a contender. And we all know how that turned out. So now y’all go out and hire this clowns assistant. Yeah that bodes well.
And it’s 2023. Not the early 1900s. No one gives a damn about things that happened before their Grandpaw was born. Tech is a joke and whether you want to admit it or not that’s what most people in this country think. See y’all in November. Gonna turn that dreary old stadium red once again

I’ve never ever heard anyone saying GT makes their schedule the best in the SEC. What a ridiculous thing to say. But he’s vol. Still smarting from UGA ending their FOUR days of glory.
Heck, Even the lowly ACC looks as the North Avenue Trade School as a sure win.

Sorry I guess that just regular football practice doesn’t gather the press as much as sexual assaults, vehicular homicide, lawsuits, and retaliatory firings do.

You forgot national championships, hoss.

Poor Tech. So deeply in debt they had to sell the rights to their stadiums name. And to a low cost auto manufacturer too. Not a Lexus, BMW or Mercedes brand which would at least have had some class.
Maybe we should take up a collection for them since the self proclaimed “millionaire” Techies are too cheap to support their sorry program.

I don’t think this is a conversation GT wants to have. They have quite a history themselves. It’s just not put on the front pages of the AJC

Don’t worry. We wouldn’t. We don’t have a Walmart Scholars program.
