Is the typo in the thread title intentional?
re: Rand Paul Uninvited to White House Picnic

Rand is a typical libertarian. Their schtick is to complain about whatever the majority party is doing. They have no solutions or platform except for undermining whoever has power. That is the only way for libertarians to seize any sort of power.
He will switch back to being a conservative darling if/when the dems ever control congress and/or the WH and he has a liberal agenda to fight against.

Second on the bellroy. Best wallet I’ve ever owned hands down.
Ridge tore up credit cards
I have a saddleback wallet for back pocket and it was too thick - gave me back problems.

re: Someone explain Disney obsessed adults to me

Harry Potter adults are just as bad.
We just took our kid to see the broadway play and it was weirdo world. Lots of adults dressed in character. Most fat and the same demographic that is Disney obsessed. The guy in line behind us said it was his 12th seeing the play.

I could only catch a little bit of her while a game was on at a Mexican restaurant, but LSU pitcher Ashley Vallejo looked pretty good in uniform. Her roster picture doesn’t look like the same person.

Leaving an aunt out is a cardinal sin in black culture. If you think stepdad is showing his arse over being left out, leave a black aunt out of the picture and see what happens.

If that little sawed off frick hates it, I love it. That’s all I need to hear.
re: Have you ever felt unwelcome in a small town?

Yes. I had locals follow me to the county line and stop with their old Chevy truck blocking both lanes of the road to watch me continue on. Fargo/Clinch Co. Georgia.
re: For other PT Catholics on new Pope? All things considered… win, loss, or even?

James Martin is an Episcopalian who calls himself Catholic. He should be ignored and shunned.

I’ve read up on him and he seems to be pretty in line with mainline Catholic teachings. Leans more liberal on stuff where he will have no control like immigration and climate change. Is conservative on things that he can control like how the church deals with homosexuality and trans issues, women in the clergy, etc.
If all that holds to form, I’m good with it. Either way, I’ll pray for him.

Of those 3, Parolin is probably the best option. The other two would be awful.
I’d love to see Erdo walk out in all white.
re: Catholics to excommunicate priests who follows Washington law about reporting child abuse

It’s not really reconciliation if someone is telling the priest of something they are going to do in the future. The entire point of confession is to confess past sins and state a firm purpose to avoid doing them in the future.
re: Best brands for car speaker systems
Posted by Dick Jacket on 5/2/25 at 7:53 pm
I’d like to replace the cheap paper cone “Bose” speakers with JL, add the JL hidden sub to the back (they make one specifically for the Tahoe but I’m not sure if it fits 25) and add power. But I also want my media stuff to work correctly. When I upgraded my old F150 system and amped everything, I lost a lot of function to backup alarms and other stuff that ran through the stereo.

Salty1-
How big of a pain in the arse is it to upgrade the Bose systems in GM vehicles, specifically a ‘25 Tahoe with Bose Centerpoint (which has a small subwoofer hidden somewhere in the dash/console).

re: Is Shedeur like Tim Tebow

I’m not trying to take anything away from Tebow. I like the guy. For whatever reason, he was not what the NFL wanted in a qb. I was rooting for him.
But through no fault of his own, the dude brought with him a huge pain in the arse in the form of a unique fan base that caused division wherever he went.

Tebow was not a locker room issue. He spent his fair share of time being quiet and taking a backseat, the exact polar opposite of Shedeur.
Even if Shedeur was quiet, you’d still have to deal with Deion and the apparently significant group of Shedeur fans who are going to lambaste every decision you make that isn’t a Shedeur first decision.
Which is basically what Tebow brought with him. Just switch out claims of religious discrimination with racial discrimination and that’s the circus each brings.
