I wish GT well... Any team that is smeared viciously and maligned I am all for.

I didn't realize Tech was in such a bad situation. Is this just message board banter or is it really that bad?

It’s mostly message board banter capitalizing on having gone through a bad stretch due to an epically horrible coach. Yes, we are in significant debt but that has largely been facilities improvements. The other part has been firing bad coaches with insane contracts. AD malpractice really.

Tech’s biggest problem is that Dodd pulled us out of the SEC which was shortsighted. He really failed to account for the arrival of pro sports in Atlanta which also hurt.

But we have good facilities, I hope good coaches now for our 2 big sports, and fans who are ready to have something to cheer for. The last few years of football have been brutal and Geoff Collins should never have another job as a coach anywhere.

Thanks, gents. I appreciate both perspectives. I thought Collins would do well but seems, much like Muschamp, he is better off as a coordinator.

Sorry I guess that just regular football practice doesn’t gather the press as much as sexual assaults, vehicular homicide, lawsuits, and retaliatory firings do.

More like one of the most historic

Historic like the Hindenburg, known for flying high before going down in flames. Also known for being relevant during the days of black and white film.

They’re going to be better the next few years but they have honestly been one of the worst p5 teams recently so idk how “good” that will make them

And yet LSU has a losing record vs Georgia Tech.

Weak. LSU has won the last 5 games against Tech. They haven't beaten LSU since the 60s.

It’s way too much fun reading their lame claims of superiority and greatness. And hearing the stupid lies they make up. They are eaten up with jealousy and envy when it comes to UGA. Georgia has everything they want and can’t have.
As for wearing black - it’s one of UGAs colors. Are they blind? If it looks like we are attending a funeral, when we play GT that’s a good description of what’s going on. GT looks like they are already dead but just don’t know it yet.
Maybe we should stage a black out for our game this season. Need to show our respect for the total destruction - and impending death of that trade school on N Avenue.
Better have our fun and get in our digs when we can. Tech is in trouble. In a few years there might not even a GT football team anymore. It’s not a secret and has reportedly been discussed as a solution to an embarrassing bad program that has put the “institute” into a huge amount of debt.
Lack of money, deep debt and little to no interest from GT fans and administration is taking a huge toll. It won’t bother me one bit if they become a footnote in history as one of the worst teams to ever play football in modern times.
I’d really miss yanking the chains of the few fans they do have though. They make it SO easy.

The sheer amount of shortsightedness by Dodd/GTAA from 1960 to 1980 (and then 1997-2003 with Dave Braine) never ceases to boggle the mind.
