Exactly. I've stated this before on our board but if for instance our OL was so much more talented, then coaching shouldn't matter and we should have been able to run all over teams that are supposedly so much less talented. We didn't which leads me to only one inescapable conclusion.....

guess we could pay him another million a year in exchange for 1 more win, then we'd be a&m

Anyone want to comment on the state of Oline for next year?

tackle will again be an issue as catalina and pyke both leave.

Interior line should be as good or potentially way better than this year. Pittman likes the big boys and some combo of solomon kindley (played 1 play this year, trying to see if he can still RS), Ben Cleveland (redshirting), adn netori johnson are all huge bodies that will vie for PT, along with guys currently playing guard. Lamont Gaillard is RG currently and will move over to center, and probably can't do any worse than kublanow.

Our best current lineman is Isaiah Wynn who will be back. He has experience at tackle adn guard, and if I had my way I wouldn't mind seeing him slide out to LT. That would just leave us with RT to fill, potentially wiht a TFr or transfer.

Early season OL can't be any worse than early season of this year, but that's not saying much. I think by the end of the year (next year) they'll be better than now but will probably take some adjusting. The good news is that QB, TE, adn WR should all be better.

why? Unless you think 1 year is enough time to accurately gauge the success of someone's future, in which case I don't care what you have to say anyway.

That's not why we hired him.

Muschamp wasn't hired to coach offense, either.

As I said, coaching should not matter if your OL is vastly superior to teams with inferior talent. And fortunately for UGA, Kirby was not hired to coach the offense; he hired an OC, Chaney, to do that. Last time I checked Saban and Muschamp didn't coach their respective offenses either.

You hired him to win football games. As the head coach you have to lay blame on him for all phases of the game, not just D/ST. He took a UGA team with a vastly superior talent pool than USC's and managed one more victory.

I wouldn't be confident, especially since all your OL should have had to do really was run block for the "best backfield in college football" and then pass block on occasional play action plays. But hey I'm sure Kirby will be able to manage the offense just fine.

We did, and he will be held responsible if he fails to do so. I just don't give a shite if we go 7-5 in year one if we win a championship in year 3.

Coming into this season with the #84 ranked SOS you'd think Kirby could manage at least 8.

It's exactly how it works actually. UGA has been the 4th or 5th best recruiting team in the conference since 2005, which is generally reflected in our on-field results.

I realize that USCe fans look at top 10 recruiting classes as a program goal, but for anybody to reasonably expect to win the SECCG and anything above that, you have to do even better than that. Alabama, OSU, etc. are too talented to expect to hang with them with anything less.

You'd be pissed if you had a young coach who's cutting his teeth but unhappy about a coach who can't win the West even with a Heisman trophy winner and multiple first round picks. Makes sense...
