Christopher Walken Jr is devilishly handsome and evil. Like a bond vilain evil.

Like sack me and I will set off the dynamite and stop your city's water supply for ever,

Was Stockton better at keeping the bench from flying of the ground or what?

He had lots of good moments all year having success against the #1 defense in the country.
The redshirt runs scout team offense against the 1s.

Stetson is famous for his success against the 1s in 2017.
We often get "confirmation positive" on future all conference players from scout team (knowshon Moreno, Justin Houston, etc..).

It is a big deal that Gunner had success against the first team defense.
You can call that the "it" factor.
But he has to transfer that to our own offensive scheme to beat out vandagriff.

Idk what it is. Maybe that he played 1A private school or something else, but every time Vandagriff gets in (very limited sample size, I know) it seems something weird happens. Fumbled snap. Busted play. He’s in with the 3rd string. I get it. But something about Vandagriff to this point always looks awkward. Saying this, he may come out like Joe Montana at G-Day but to me I could easily see him being the odd man out and going elsewhere and doing well

The same can be said for Beck.
And we haven't seen Gunner.

There is a learning curve for all of them.

Just out of curiosity, how? I can't find any stats where he actually played.

Do you mean in practice?

Vandagriff ran scout team in 2021.
Stockton ran scout team in 2022.

Media has access to first team defense.
You think there are plenty of secrets out there about who does what?

Being the best redshirt freshman is real. But it is far from being the highest ceiling. It is far from being the best to run our offense.
But impressing a defense with that many studs flying around is a good thing for confidence.

You know I normally agree with you but the same cannot be said for Beck. He looked totally in control of the offense when he got in against Oregon, South Carolina, Auburn, Vanderbilt, and TCU. The main caveat there being he had a lot more reps than Vandagriff this year.

Obviously this is all a wait and see. Any could falter, any could rise. One could start and another could take his place. No one knows. But at this point, I’ll trust the coaches and be excited to see the offense under new leadership. Nothing against Stetson, just an excited for the future type of sentiment

Stockton broke all of the Trevor Lawrence and Deshaun Watson's records in Georgia High school, his senior year, threw 59 Tds and 1 int...ONE! Most think he's the future. BVG had great numbers too in HS and won all sorts of AA awards. Beck is the least decorated, but was still #7 QB in the country and 4 stars.
My guess?...Brock 'the Rock' Vandagriff, is big, strong (315 lb power clean) and got great speed. I think he takes over about mid-season and rides it out all the way to a 3-peat.

Carson Beck has a very strong arm and is incredibly accurate on deep routes. Match that up with the speed of Arian Smith, Ladd McConkey, Yazeed Haynes, and Logan Johnson and Georgia could create a perfect storm.

Beck also checks down extremely well. He is a smart and composed player.

I would be very surprised if he doesn't start and put up huge numbers.

He threw 35 passes against virtually no pressure.
In 7 rush attempts this season, he has 2 fumbles. In 5 attempts last season, he had 1 fumble.

Ryland Goede basically admitted to wanting to strangle Beck after the fumble in the red zone against Tech this season.

Beck was Mr Football for Florida after winning the state championship in their toughest level of football. He "fell off" after struggling his senior year with virtually an entirely new offense around him. The offense did see solid improvement over the course of the year. But it was a big step back from the junior year stats.

Will vouch for MeanSonny here. All the media pundits have Gunner Stockton as 3rd in the pecking order with this being a two-way battle between Beck and Vandagriff. Probably mostly due to Gunner being the youngest of the three with less time in the system.

However, Gunner has similar moxie/confidence of Stetson and runs scour team and does it well. He is good athlete/runner - not as fast as Stetson but a little more stout and not afraid of contact. To prepare UGA for TCU - he agreed to take off the “no contact” jersey and absorb all the punishment to help prepare the 1st team defense for Max Duggan.

Don’t be shocked if he leap frogs the other two.

Beck will start but there will be competition between the three as the season progresses as Vandagriff and Stockton become more familiar with the complex scheme. It wouldn't surprise me if any of the three were starters by the EOS.

He is definitely not the only target. Dylan Raiola (#1) and Jake Mecklinberg (#7) from Savannah are both higher rated guys that are being targeted.

Raiola is the target. He's a must get regardless of Pug's commitment. I also think it's very likely UGA signs him.

Merklinger is a QB2 at best. Calvary is a small school playing in a weak region against weak competition. If he was playing for Benedictine, I might feel better about him.

Savannah area football just isn't very good at all.

I think one transfers after Spring, and if it is between the upperclassmen, the other can likely go pro after even a really good season, leaving GS to take the reins the following year. This is also why they are likely taking two QBs in 2024, based on how many they are offering with one committed.

They would both probably beat a 1-11 Colorado and a 3-8 Nicholls team.

But, I guess when you follow them up with an 8-5 Houston team we should all hold on for the excitement.

I mean, our schedule could be worse. We could have TCU on it. But nobody wants to watch that beat down again.
