Gunner Stockton.
Saw him up close at the 2021 Corky Kell 7-on-7 passing camp in June of that year. I've officiated football for going on 16 years and when you do this long enough you know pretty much right away the kids that stand out and just have ""IT". Well Gunner has "IT" in spades.
The ball comes out of his hand different. He threw a pass right next to my right ear and you could actually hear the ball humming in flight. The other QB'S didn't even come close to him in both appearance and skill. He's special, and he'll be the starter for us in August. He's that good.

Meh. Probably Staff and Murray but trust me when I tell you that that ball was a tight spiral on a rope w/a distinct hum to it.
Rusty Mansell was there that day also so he could vouch.

I want Gunner to win the job just because of his name.
He's also huge. It was pointed out on the Georgia board when he appeared on Ryland's youtubecast that he's basically the same size as Tate Ratledge on the sofa with big legs, but has the speed and agility of a running back, and a hell of an arm the zip the ball. The real question for most QB's is what's going on upstairs. Can he be a leader, a coach on the field, check in and out of stuff, make the right decisions in the heat of the moment, and put the last play to bed and get right on the next play, all that intangible shite that Stetson had. I have no idea. I think they all have good arms and decent enough legs, and it will come down to who is mentally better. Nobody outside the program can speak to that.
