UGA is too cheap to spend money on anything but gymnastics and now football.

You clearly know nothing about the current state of our gymnastics program. It is no longer a priority at Georgia. The investment in football, however, has paid off quite well. Maybe Tennessee should try it.
Meanwhile...1998.

Georgia baseball is no different than Arkansas football. 1 championship over 40 years ago and have done basically nothing since the modern era, and don’t give me this bullshite that Georgia doesn’t care. They just fired their coach

I hear the UGA is partnering with Gas Monkey Garage to build safer street cars. Maybe that’s were the gymnastics money is going.

Championship winning coach Paul Manieri might listen. Give him a call.

While Tennessee partners with Mr. Pibb, Fresca, and other once mildly popular brands that are no longer revelant.

The state of Arkansas considering its small size produces a lot of baseball talent. Youth baseball and high school baseball has exploded under DVH.

Honestly, I see little reason why Georgia can't become a baseball power.

1) We're talking SEC TV money to spend, and I'm not sure how much more the football team needs right now. So you do have a window of opportunity.
2) Also, SEC baseball; do the Dawgs really want to sit back and let Florida and South Carolina succeed where they don't? I doubt they care about Vandy... but now, Auburn is starting to make runs too. That's got to rankle some big money guys.
3) and hell, the blueprint is out there. Not everyone can follow it, but SEC schools can. Make it fun, make it a tailgating experience, and start reaching out to the instate schools.

I mean, go to LSU, Arkansas, the Mississippi schools, Carolina. Watch how they make it a spring/summer event, when football is idle and basketball is winding down. It helps keep your brand out there to the locals, when otherwise things are quiet.

With the right coach, they can be top 5 nationally annually. They need to hire someone that is Kirbyesque. This job should pique the interest of all the best coaches in the country.

Maybe the braves can help find a coach for UGA.

It certainly could be an elite program. Any SEC team can become elite.

A great example is Vanderbilt.

Lol what? I hate UGA and this is a retarded post that makes no sense. Their championship was from the 90s. Arkansas’ was from the 60s lmao

“ You must be out of the loop. Cobb county is the nucleus of youth baseball in America. More recruits come from the area than anywhere in the country. Like 100 to 1 versus the state of Arkansas. Travel literally started there, so yeah, we can and we will.”

Lol, there are at least a dozen counties in Texas that can pretty much claim that. Sit this one out skippy.

Spoiler: the reason is the same as basketball, UGA is cheap. It took them decades to really invest in football and they lack the attention span to do more than 1thing at a time.

Strickland was a shite coach at a potentially great program. Everything is in place except for coach and facilities, and we're working on both. IT's just like the football team, it just needed the right coach, and when we get them, Georgia will rise to the top!

And yet Georgia has a national championship in baseball and a Final Four appearance in basketball.

Tennessee is missing both championships and teeth.

Sit down and STFU faggie. You don't know shite about anything, and your records prove it. You are a leech to our conference. Nowhere in texas has this amount of talent in one area. Now move along.

That used to be a valid answer, but I don't think so now.

Money is pumping into the SEC schools right now, and I meant it when I said UGA has probably built their football stuff sufficiently for the next couple seasons. So, time to cycle some of that funding to other sports. A baseball park would seem much cheaper to build than a basketball arena, so it's a good "let's stay busy" project.

And look at Alabama; not baseball but basketball. People like to win, and that attitude carried over from football to basketball.

For UGA, basketball is a big investment, and you're starting low, not mid-conference. But for baseball, you could push something through in a relatively short period of time, with not a huge (relative) bill. Pay for a good coach, crank up the NIL machine. Like I said, reference LSU, Arkansas, and Miss State in a hard sell to your money folks... "look at what they have, and look at their returns on it".

Money is pumping in to the SEC true, but UGAs AD doesn’t spend it outside of football recruiting and football recruiting related expenses.
Baseball coach 650,000
Basketball 3,400,000
W Basketball 950,000
Softball 230,000

Tennessee
Baseball 1,500,000
Basketball 5,500,000
W Basketball 800,000
Softball 340,000

The payoff is Tennessee fans have year round sports to enjoy.
