I think A&M is a bad match up for Texas. Texas can't run the ball, and they can't throw it deep. It's all a short passing game, and that's not going to light up the scoreboard against A&M. And A&M's offense has progressed to the point where it sure looks like they will score points against everyone.

I guess you missed Wingo's 75 yard reception for a TD on the opening drive. Arch clearly has it dialed in.

Arch has 1 good game out of 10 and suddenly Texas is back.
You still have 2 more losses coming. Bank on it.

Texas matchup with the Aggies very well, Aggies won't rack up points against Texas and passing will kill the Aggies.

are we really talking about Texas as anything other than the 8-4 team they will be, and the 6-6 team they SHOULD be?

Ags. Kirby owns sark. There's a 99.99% chance we lose in Athens.
Unless half of Georgia's team comes down with a mystery illness 10 min before the game starts.

Note: Aggy doesn't understand metaphor.

This is not a troll, so correct me if I’m wrong. Texas has a subpar OLine and we have one of the best pass rushes in the country. If Texas doesn’t have a good run game, they could be in trouble.

Why not?

If you can read, I'm clearly not saying "Texas is Back!". I'm saying that on any given Saturday, this Texas team can show up and beat either Georgia or A&M, from what we can tell and have seen thus far.
And Aggy & Georgia know it and it's a source of uneasiness and anxiety.

Could be. There is a greater than 50% you are correct.
But you never know. Texas A&M needs to exorcise some demons and that often has a way of inhibiting players.

I think yall got Georgia this year. Your team out talents Georgia and is unpredictable which are Kirby’s two weaknesses.

We’ve started off well this season (top ten road win, winning in Death Valley), but Texas is going to be just as hungry as we will and they’re getting better offensively week by week. Should be a good one.

The strength of A&M isn't one thing, it's that they are the most complete team and it starts with the OL and DL.
We have very few negative yardage plays and we get a ton of negative yardage plays. Outside of that though there is no one thing that is a strength.
We can run the ball. We can throw deep. We can throw screens. We have excellent TE's. We throw to the RB's. We also have a mobile QB that can beat you with his legs and we run a lot to our WR's. If you look at a typical game the ball is thrown all over the field. We just take whatever you give us.
On D we have a DL that stuffs the run and gets a lot of sacks. Our DL has gotten consistent pressure rushing 4 all year and when we blitz your QB will be very lucky to have 3 seconds. We have smart and athletic LB's that communicate and are especially good at covering screen passes. The DB's are solid. You don't see guys running wild and uncovered, you have to hit moving targets in tight windows.
The biggest flaws we have has been penalties at times and sometimes turnovers. Our FG kicker is unreliable over 40 yards, not horrible but inconsistent. He is solid inside 40. Sometimes our D gets overly aggressive and misses assignments, this killed us against Arky.
Mainly though I think we can score on anyone because you just can't focus on one thing or even two or three things. So then it comes down to whether Texas can keep up against our D. Your run game is meh at best so it's going to depend on the OL getting Arch time to throw or us not covering the screen passes to Wingo. We also need to spy Arch. We have shown we could do that against better offenses this year.
So where is this "matchup well" coming from? Unless you have a strong OL you don't matchup well and that isn't exactly a strength for Texas.

Exactly and thank you for the serious response.
I'm honestly not trying to troll here because I know we've looked like buttcheeks for 80% of the season. But hope springs eternal, rivalries bring out the best in these boys, and "peaking at the right time" is a real thing in sports.
A 9-3 Texas with a loss to tOSU & either A&M/UGA and with a win over A&M/UGA, Vandy & OU (as long as they keep winning) will make for a very interesting last turn and final stretch to the finish.

And there is the issue. Texas has to show up with their A game to beat anyone. Georgia can have it all go wrong and leave you scratching your head as to how you lost at the end.

That was a screen pass to the flat, not a deep ball.

8-4 is still alive this year. It's just moved to Austin
