Uh OH

That crowd will feature the smallest number of Gator fans since divisional play started, as the Gators returned thousands of tickets.

Florida fans lack of interest in what is, all around, a great athletic program always baffles me.

Honest question for Gator fans - what is the reason? Football (in their prime), basketball, baseball, gymnastics.. all very good programs. There is nothing much else to do in Gainesville so why is there not more interest in the programs?

Florida has HORRIBLE fans.

It's like they love identifying with UF football when they're good, but completely trash them at every turn when they're bad.

FSU has some whiny fans. But they're so much better than UF fans.

Governor Rick said "Yeah, but better a red tide than a Crimson Tide." And all the fanbases in the state were like...

That's about real capacity at knee land anyway. Otherwise they pile orange clad cattle on top of each other.

Not sure if a Kentucky fan should be talking about empty seats... Having to reduce seating and still not be able to fill Grocery Store Field has got to be a tough pill to swallow.

Hyams and Trey Wallace reporting that UF will be returning nearly 5k of the 7500 tickets allotted to them.

The 2016 UF crowd was the smallest crowd that I've ever seen in Neyland and this looks to be quite a bit smaller then that.

VOLS home field advantage at night should be a major boost for the good guys.

That implies that thousands weren't returned...

This isn't UK or Missouri.

There will be 100k + in Neyland on Saturday.

UF students aren't interested in football as much. We've been going for as many international kids as possible, and pushing for stronger academic rankings. Therefore we have less students concerned with sports overall. Second is a lot of people graduate UF, then leave the area. Gainesville doesn't hold a ton of big time opportunities outside of a few companies. So Gator nation is spread out pretty far. The local fans are generally poorer, as traveling outside of Gainesville you quickly realize you are very deep in the South.

Now there will be a full stadium when the product is better sure. But it will never be what it once was. The students care a lot less, and the alumni don't live close. Sucks. But sadly is what it is.

That sucks. I went to the game at Neyland in 14 when Austin Hardin kicked the game winner after Treon led us back. It’s a shame we aren’t representing Better.

did they return as many tickets as Tennessee had empty seats in their sections of BofA in Charlotte vs WVU?
