Stop crying. I thought you'd be happy dick riding Michigan all day but you aren't apparently.

I don't believe any coach has a lifetime pass. Anyone will get fired if they start to suck bad enough and consistently. That being said, if Eddie Munster ever did reach that point, he'd have a nice compensation package waiting on him I am sure. How long/much is his current contract?

This is why the rant sucks. You can't have a legit conversation without people accusing you of flaming/trolling.

Judging from asdf's post history, it seems pretty obvious that he's flaming.

The fact that I've already answered him and he's still insisting on asking the same question should seal it.

Dumbazz is as dumbazz does.

Donovan hasnt been involved in a NCAA scandal and he hasnt been caught with a young woman half his age after lying and cheating about it....so we may just keep our coach thank you.

I think you don't have a clue how difficult it is to get the to Final Four let alone win a championship. With very few exceptions it takes a lot of luck to get there.

Even if he never wins another title, gets to the final 4, as long as the team is competitive and represents the U, In my opinion, Billy D. has a job for life. Go Gators

I think Billy D killed his momentum when he resigned to coach in the NBA and then changed his mind. It was a huge distraction for him and something you don't need in recruiting against other schools.

No, he lost his momentum when he lost his top 6 scorers from his NC team. The NBA stint was a blip in the radar without consequence.

This is ridiculous and poor trolling. Arky fans are the freaking worst.

3 elite 8 losses in a row and the unusual easy path UF has had to get them in the last 3 years... Even espn is talking about it. Must be really frustrating to the few UF fans that care about BBall.

It's not frustrating at all for me. Just look at the roster. No true NBA talent anywhere on the 2013 team. No offensive inside presence at all. Michigan is better. How the frick are we supposed to be frustrated? Disappointed, sure.

Look at the UF's Basketball Roster. Who exactly will play in the NBA?

Patric Young? Physical beast, but played way below his talent level in the tourney?

Erik Murphy? Will be in the NBA because of his shooting, but he was brutal this weekend.

Who else has a chance in the NBA? Boynton will probably go overseas, same with Rosario.

But next season, talent wise, UF will be a lot better off. If Young chooses to come back, along with the incoming 2 top 10 recruits (Hill and Walker), and eligible big men transfers from Va Tech and South Carolina (Harris and Smith), UF will be A LOT better off talent wise.

UF next year depending on Young coming back would have its lineup looking like:

Wilbekin/Ogbueze
Frazier/Hill/Graham/Kurtz
C. Walker/Prather/D. Walker
Yeguete/Smith/Harris
Young/Smith/Harris

Talent Wise, and Size wise, that potentially will be the best team Donovan has had since the Back-2-Back Title teams.

Is the St Louis pipeline still going for UF? I think there's supposed to be some good players in the area the next couple years.

Uh... is this a serious question? As long as billy keeps winning 20 games a year and winning 2 or 3 tourney games he is TOTALLY safe. Especially if he brings sec titles too. The national title is extremely hard to win in bball. And plus, i dont think hes peaked. This team overachieved big time.

It is frustrating to see a team make it to the elite 8 and not get into the Final 4. 3 times in a row just has to be brutal though.....

Maybe Uk is different than UF? In 2010 we were in disbelief when WVirginia beat us in the elite 8. You don't celebrate or hang banners for getting to the elite 8. 3 years in a row is just repeatedly brutal letdown.

FYI: I was rooting for UF.

UF and UK are not alike. UF is not a historical basketball power. You hang banners at UF for the elite 8. Oh and sec titles. Which uf also won this year. But besides being slightly disappointed in being so close and not winning the title, ufs season was very successful by any measure.

Anyone that says different is flaming.

99% of schools would kill for 3 straight elite 8s.

Agreed. We had a successful season with a sometimes scrappy, sometimes lazy team that didn't really have any top shelf talent. Of course we want to win it all but the basketball Gators really did pretty well this season.

As for the OP, I think that's the kind of silly question that makes no sense to entertain. None of those decisions are made ex ante and it throws the whole predictive nature of coaching decisions into disarray. I have a hard time answering it - I don't want any coach at UF who doesn't at least have the potential to win it all in his/her sport, but Billy D is the guy for UF basketball.
