So you're going to ignore keeping a coach that can't beat the team that is the biggest rivalry in the country? Sound bro. Sound.
Nationally, the B1G rivalry is the most popular. Use your Google skills to verify.
But, you're proving my point. Most rivalries are regional in importance. I've never heard anyone who thought the OSU/Michigan rivalry wasn't the most popular.

I agree with that, for sure. Of course most people here won't.

It's all a matter of perspective.

I don't understand why you think more people nationally care about OSU/Michigan vs. UA/AU. Outside of your region, there aren't hardly any teams that people care about. Notre Dame would be the exception though, because of their Catholic affiliation.

Google it..
Most people believe it to be the best rivalry. I think Yahoo had an article claiming the IB was larger, so you can hang on to that, I suppose.
NCAA.com says it's Army Navy.

I realize that, but like I said, they're misinformed. That has everything to do with bigger cities and national coverage over the past 50 years. But, inside the programs, it's not. No real rivalry would put up with mediocrity like they have.

Only 1 of those teams has titles

Holy crap. Really?? Ok, you win. The IB is the biggest rivalry in college football despite what most people believe.
But, you're proving my point. The importance of most rivalries is purely fan based.

That doesn't stop Bama fans from acting as if its one of the most sacred rivalries of all time
Be less transparent. "If we can't have a real rivalry, we'll bash the top ones in the conference"

Maybe the IB is the most intense, however you can judge that. tOSU posters on here might disagree...
But The Game, is seen as the biggest rivalry nationally.
While the IB is seen as a regional rivalry.
A lot of that has to do with history. Michigan and tOSU were both big players in CFB the last 50 years and really huge in the 60's and 70's - so you have two probably Top 5 historic programs battling it out.
Auburn not so much.

Exactly. The fans at OSU allowed a coach to remain for 13 years and get dominated by their rivalry. At Bama, fired after a 10 win season and a Sugar Bowl birth. If it's based on fans, it's still not close. Believe Google all you want.

And IB is 2nd and growing. Haven't there been many, many national polls about this subject? Make a point that isn't retarded.

Who is misinformed? People outside of the south? Them recognizing another rivalry more than the Iron Bowl doesn't make them misinformed. It makes that the bigger rivalry.
IB is getting its due attention now though, but I would place my bet on OSU-Michigan on the more known rivalry, and it is a bitter one to boot. I don't live in the deep south so I can't tell you how bitter IB is, but The Game is pretty much a dbag fest in the northern midwest.
To OP: I would take Civil War Oregon-Oregon St and Apple Cup UW-Wazzu over UW-OU

I do think it can be argued that the Alabama/ Auburn is the most intense rivalry while Michigan/OSU is the biggest/greatest rivalry. There IS a difference.

This post doesn't surprise me. If you ever want to shake that backward image, don't get your feelings hurt over a statement about your rivalry.

Auburn-Bama is, and is repeatedly deemed by most media, the most intense rivalry, perhaps in all of sports.
It isn't as "big" as Michigan-OSU, but that probably won't last. People in media, and people outside of the Southeast, have a hard time with the fact that people give less and less of a shite about the Big 10 and Notre Dame every year. Michigan and Ohio are dying states, while the SE and Texas are exploding.
To be fair, the west is growing quickly too, although I don't think Oregon has much to do with it.
Serious college football fans, regardless of locale, would likely tell you Auburn-Alabama is a more important rivalry than Michigan-Ohio. Casual college football fans, especially those that grew up in an era where the Big 10 mattered, may hang on to OSU-Mich. But these are the same people who pretend Michigan State - Illinois is an important game.

Auburn wasn't a big program in the last 50 years? You're stupid, right?
Like I said, Big 10 bias dies hard, and people are having a rough time realizing people don't give a shite about Michigan or Penn State anymore.
