ALmost everyone would name the OSU/Michigan as the rivalry in college sports, but in every area of the country, the next 5 or so would be very different. Most regional rivalries are just a matter of perspective.

John Cooper beat Michigan once in 13 years. Bill Curry lost 4 in a row to Auburn and was fired after a 10 win season. Not even close.

I can definitely see this point to a different end here. I've never been to a big rivalry game or lived in an area where there was a "big" rivalry that you might compare to Alabama and Auburn. I've only ever experienced the Iron Bowl as far as that goes. There's NO way I could really judge how things hit the fan up North or on the east coast compared to how things are in Alabama. I've known Alabama vs Auburn for my ENTIRE life. It's the only rivalry I've truly known. I can see how there would be a bias, easily.

Well, most rivalries are fan based so I can see how SEC fans would be more into the IB than people from Oregon.

The IB is a huge rivalry among Alabama and Auburn fans and probably the top in state rivalry IMO.

So Oregon and Washington fans are filled with unmitigated hatred for each other? My Gid in Heaven man, i hope no other fan bases are like Bama and Auburn toward each other. It's pretty frickin sad the amount of hate that's involved with a bunch of 18-22 year old kids in a Crimson shirt playing football against a bunch of 18-22 year old kids in a blue shirt. Auburn needs to go to the SEC East and Mizzou can be in The Western Division. Stop the permanent cross divisional games and rotate them all out. The Bama-AU hateful marriage needs a separation imo.

Exactly. Anyone that says Ohio St Mich is a bigger game is just misinformed.

It's 10:51, so not me.. Although I'm about to crack open a cold one and play fetch with the dogs before I settle into my crevice in the couch for my football viewing pleasure.

Maybe in Alaska, but I remember growing up in Minnesota people asking me "who I was for".

As a fellow Minnesotan, that is hard to believe. Updyke and the BCS run has brought it into the spotlight. Otherwise it was OSU-Michigan, and Texas-Oklahoma. Then it was "oh, that's a rivalry, cool" to pretty much everything else. Now it is huge though.

Of course it will be more intense locally, but nationally it is well known and watched as is seen by consistently rating in the top half of network pulls.

I don't have anything vested in the Ohio State/Michigan or Texas/Oklahoma rivalries, but I watch them and appreciate them.

Pretty much.

Used to be Army Navy but that got old. Updyke and 30/30 brought some national attention to the IB though.

Not saying you Rog. How can a rivalry that is intense keep a coach for 13 years and win once. Nationally, people are misinformed. I'm tell on you... It's not even close. My father in law is a Osu grad and lives here now and he reluctantly agrees.

It's very much true. I grew up in Champlin, and of course everyone knew I was from AL. It was asked countless times, and that was back in the 90s. Wrestling and football were huge there - but maybe the interest was more local considering Jesse Ventura was a football coach there. I dunno.

Well, you would be wrong. It's the biggest rivalry in CFB, and everyone else can argue for second.

The IB is the biggest in state rivalry for sure.

Did the Oregon and Washington Leg. come together and agree not to play one another?

So you're going to ignore keeping a coach that can't beat the team that is the biggest rivalry in the country? Sound bro. Sound.
