He said he wasn't leaving.

Wondering if UH would use this as a smokescreen to try and persuade Herman to stay close to "home".

That concerns me as well. I don't feel like South Carolina (or Missouri) are stepping stone jobs, but if your dream job comes calling, how can you say no?

Anyone who's dream job is Texas should have their head examined.

Strong is going to take the Miami job if he gets the offer. Take that to the bank.

That leads Texas open to put out a massive search and Herman will want that gig.

I don't think this is going to happen. Miami can't fricking afford to pay his buy out.

What if he says no buyout clause or I don't come to USC? I think you should hire Rich Rod for 4.2 and be done with it. He's a good coach.

Jack Arute's show is almost as bad as Erik Kuselius' (sp?) show. I mean Erik Kuselius gave his top 7 the other morning and never once mentioned Alabama. Say what you want about Alabama but they are definitely among the top 7 teams in the country

Why would any coach in Herman's situation have a secret agreement? Wouldn't that mean he's not getting as much money as his possible and his agent is shafting him?

More importantly, why would anyone believe this?

I'm gonna go to church as promised and I thought I'd wear the white fish nets since white is the color associated with purity and all that junk.

so you're really looking at a $55 million commitment and no school is that stupid.

Depends on how desperate they get. You underestimate their entitlement and how far they would go to get out of a down cycle. Texas football can't have two bad coaches at any price.

You just said it's not a stepping-stone job, and then proceeded to explain how it is a stepping-stone job.

That doesn't make us a stepping stone school though. You clearly didn't get what I was trying to say. If Herman came to South Carolina, the only place I'd feel he'd leave for is Texas. Same story if he went to Missouri.

OK, so you're just delusional. No further explanation needed.

Anybody who leaves South Carolina for Texas right now is insane. Ppl can do whatever they want. Texas is a former she'll of itself

Come on now. Texas will always be Texas and they will be back.
