Georgia is taking some big home and homes. That's impressive.

I LOVE seeing the Gumps and Dragoncon folks interacting. Somebody should film a reality show here that weekend.

The weekend Alabama played West Virginia in Atlanta we had some friends in town to go to the Braves games.

The comments they were making when we drove them around Centennial Park, GA Dome, World of Coke, etc... had my sides hurting from laughing so hard.

I like the Power 5 games State has scheduled, not a fan at all of playing true road games in Hattiesburg and Troy though. Don't mind Memphis and Tulane as much because of the cities they are in, but I see no benefit in the other two trips.

I'm going to try to make it out West for at least one of the two games against the Arizona schools, that's just a part of the country I've always wanted to visit. I have some work connections in Minneapolis so I may try to make that trip as well. NC State, Texas Tech, and Wazzu are nice matchups for State, don't know that I have a huge desire to make any of those road trips though.

Yea going to Troy and Tulane does not make much sense. I mean if they wouldn't agree to just coming to State they can be replaced with 50 other similar programs who would take the pay check

Actually pretty weak for Florida. Especially considering you pretty much have to play FSU every year.

It starts off slow but their OOC schedule heats up towards the end of the run.

Florida and Georgia are a bit penalized at the moment because neither GT or FSU really moves the needle. And that is with FSU winning a national title recently.

After Jimbo had his career meltdown due to his wife getting hosed by half the campus FSU has really fallen far back in the pack.

What’s with going to the West coach? Is that new or have I missed it? Good schedule though.

Our OOC games don’t have the name pop but you’ll want to watch every coming Illinois, kansas game if you are in to hate-filled football games. We also play Kansas State, and Colorado a few times which we will enjoy but won’t have the same hate level. Then we somehow play Boston College.

Future OOC schedulesThat’s complete bull shite about calc haha.

I am not so certain....I know in the 90's this was true because I went to another school where Tech students would take calculus for transfer calculus because it was taught as practical application rather than a theoretical one....the one exception I think is they will allow some degree majors to substitute physics for Calc 1....but it is a calculus based physics course so a student would have to be proficient at college level calculus to be successful generally speaking where to complete calculus 1 all they would need is proficiency at high school level calculus and probably only Algebra 2.

LINK

Of course the trick is that most recruits ain't gonna get a degree anyway so they can be eligible for 3-4 years and avoid calculus like they can anywhere. I have a good friend who was a recruiting compliance officer in the AD at GT and his job was to see to it that SAs stayed eligible...and his take was it wasn't any harder at Tech AFTER they signed than anywhere but it was a harder sell on the front end because of the "fear" associated with the rigor of academics.

The idea that Tech isn’t really trying to excel in athletics is a myth their fans (all 30 of them) made up. Want proof? Check out how many recent major probations their football and basketball program have.

They absolutely care...Tech alumni are still old enough to be southerners and know how important football is especially in the south....as the student body becomes more and more made up of kids from outside the region this will and has changed somewhat but it is far from that now...they care and they care deeply. And in 4 years even a kid from Tehran is likely to get bitten by the bug most southerners have in the DNA which leads us to obsess over CFB....Tech is a southern institution will all that that means....and CFB in particular is important on North Avenue....

2008, the first year of it, was absolutely incredible - especially when you tossed in the Black Gay Pride folks.

By now though it's old hat.

Forgot about that too

Atlanta truly is a great melting pot on Labor Day Weekend. Toss in the Nascar race when it's the same time and it's really a spectacle to behold.

I know we all rag on each other on here, but I have truly never seen a group of fans as a collective quite like those West Virginia folks.........and that was their "travel to a decently far away expensive game" crowd.

Can you imagine that place for one of their cheap home games against Delaware State or something?

I think it’s just to give people a change, programs that we wouldn’t otherwise get a chance to play during bowl season.

That 2030 home schedule shows all three in Athens. Is that correct? If so that is one hell of a home schedule no matter who we play at home in conference
