You can't claim that if the whistle was not blown that Arkansas would recover that football.
Now, if the original Arkansas player who jumped on the ball and muffed it recovered, yes. But not 5 seconds after the play was whistled dead.

Sure but it wasn’t an “immediate” recovery. The ball was bobbled around and even bounced off the ref.
