Don't do the crime if you can't do the time which of course is a 2 year suspension

No he didn't. The "time" for committing fraud was determined to be two years. He has served one.

Besides I'm not sure I want a player who cheated a test where the penalty is a two year ban, when he could have just pissed dirty and taken a few game suspension. Hell, he would have been back in the middle of October last year. That's just stupid, honestly.

It's good to see the NCAA step in and teach this young man that cheating on a test and doing drugs is no way to go thru life. Fulton will be a better man after learning his lesson

Said it in the other thread. LSU fans should be mad at their compliance department for not making this point clear the student-athletes.

That's the NCAA and they view what he did as worse than other real crimes.

Because the member institutions have agreed to work on an honor system. They find improprieties themselves, and they are expected to report them. The same thing applies to players in the system. Lying about breaking the rules violates the very core of the system. It's even worse than breaking the rules.

There's a reason Jim Tressel never coached again and Bruce Pearl had to spend time in Purgatory.

Truest statement in the thread. That's pretty much an inexcusable move by compliance and the athletic department.

No he didn't.

Fulton isn't some victim here and LSU fans should stop acting like he's getting boned. He got caught trying to swap clean piss so he'd pass a drug test. 2 year suspension. His fault, his problem.

Can you point out which Alabama player got caught trying to swap out piss and didn't get punished?

Yes, Fulton attempted to cheat a piss test and got caught, so he's got to deal with

Wrong. He had the fake urine. The NCAA rep watched him pour it out and proceed to give his real sample. His sample passed all testing. He should have never been allowed to or even have to give a real sample if he was going to be charged with tampering with a test. The NCAA rep should have stopped the testing immediately when he saw the “fake sample” but he didn’t. Fulton then poured the fake sample out and gave a real sample thus he never actually turned in a fake sample and never made an actual attempt at cheating.

If a guy goes into a store with a concealed gun, is he attempting to rob the store?

And Savion Smith served none. Yet was able to avoid all punishment by playing one year of JUCO and awarded a scholarship by Alabama.
