He was sober as a judge until his time in College Station.
Hence the nickname, "Rumlin".

Yes he had a reputation as a drinker while at A&M. Same reputation your last coach and current coach have. It's a high stress job - all cope in their own way - some cope in unhealthy ways.

Agree. Truly pathetic.

Little bitch boi Mansuta is a pathetic excuse of a human being. There’s nothing funny about alcohol abuse and addiction. It’s a high stress job, many many coaches have had alcohol issues. I hope Sark, Kifflin, et al stay sober. I hope Sumlin gets help. I would suggest a ban for that common dog turd Mansuta.

Nah that was the UT coach and his stripper woman, Pole Assassin. Her pet monkey was rumored to have bit a trick or treater one Halloween. Ow that was pretty funny.

Then again, you are the guy that played dress up in college and then tried to convince people you served in the military

Lol seems like I struck a nerve with that last post. Sorry you think it’s ok to steal valor from the women and men that put their life on the line for this country

The man's been ostracized and run off for a number of years now. LEAVE IT ALONE!

Like that couldn't happen to any of us. Be careful throwing stones in a glass house.

Having battled and defeated alcoholism personally and had a cousin who died from it at age 32, you’ll never see me calling people a “drunk” and therefore worthless and wishing bad things on them.
If someone hasn’t been in the clutches of true addiction, I suggest they be nice or keep their mouth shut. It does not discriminate. I’ve seen rich and poor, judges and janitors battling it.
Yes, tough love is sometimes necessary, but I was taught you don’t kick a man when he’s down.

Monsusta, or whoever the hell you are this week … you’re truly a piece of shite.
Life will eventually teach you that reveling in the misfortune of others is a dangers game to play. It has a way of coming back full circle.

Let’s wish him well and peace. Not a bad coach. Liked the guy myself.

Did he have a reputation for drinking while coaching?
In Oct of 2015 there was a video that hit the internet of someone dragging Sumlin through a hotel lobby so drunk he could not stand on his own two feet. I searched and that video, while referenced, is gone on the internet sites like you tube now. It was not an arrest but dude he made Cooter Brown look sober.

Battling addiction is a daily fight. I know plenty who found sobriety, relapsed, and sobered up again. It’s a lifelong struggle.
I hope Sumlin is able to fight it, and I hope guys like Sark are able to keep up the fight.
College rivalries are secondary to people’s lives.
