Having battled and defeated alcoholism personally and had a cousin who died from it at age 32, you’ll never see me calling people a “drunk” and therefore worthless and wishing bad things on them.
If someone hasn’t been in the clutches of true addiction, I suggest they be nice or keep their mouth shut. It does not discriminate. I’ve seen rich and poor, judges and janitors battling it.
Congrats on your sobriety, keep it up man!
My grandpa started a very successful commercial plumbing business (180 employees), eventually turning it over to my dad when he was ready to retire and enjoy his ranch. Everything was great when my grandpa was alive but when he died...my dad turned into an alcoholic. Within a span of five years he got violent, left my mom, and ran the company right into the ground. He attacked and cut off anybody who ever tried to help him.
He's still alive but he's a shell of the man that raised me. I still hear from him time to time...only when he wants something from me. I've tried to help so many times but it's never stuck and I just can't do it anymore. I'm hoping one day he will have an interest in getting to know his young grandchildren but I doubt it, unfortunately.

A texas fan talking about alcoholic football coaches? Wow.

You know the rule….no tattling on aggy….you can comment if they report their indiscretions themselves…and they will.

Bro, I’m sorry for what you went through. I know it’s hard to have compassion on an addict/alcoholic and forgive, especially your own father when he’s been abusive and wrecked a family and the family business. It sucks because I’m sure you love him. It probably looks like he doesn’t give damn, but deep down he’s miserable and dealing with regret (he won’t admit this probably. He’s battling demons and pride).
You did the right thing by separating yourself from him, but keep your heart open for when that miracle happens. Praying for you, man.

A&M has put more people in the military than any other school outside of the military academies.
That's not necessarily accurate. LSU, Citadel, VPI, VMI, and Norwich have put in more than their fair share. In fact, Camp LeJune is named after an LSU Tiger.
Want to piss a tsip off? Show they/them who the Austin Airport is named after (Bergstrom).

It’s entirely accurate…while each of those other schools have great military histories and contributions, none of those other schools have contributed more officers to the military than A&M.

Poor sarge. Played dress up in band class in college and now pretends he served in the military

Other universities had graduates serve in the military as well. You cultists aren’t special

Ok, X-Wing, A&M's record against t.u. at Kyle in my lifetime is 9-8 (2-0 when I was a student). In Austin, that same record is 8-9 (0-2 when I was a student).
For the record, when I was in school, A&M was a top 50-ranked school in U.S. News and World Report. t.u. was nowhere to be found. There was such a panic in Austin an entire edition of Texas Monthly was devoted to it:

Also not true. When I worked in USAREC I had access to accessions data. At that time (2009), Norwich was just behind A&M and passed us a few years ago.

“I’ll have you know that in my cherry-picked timeline, the aggies are exactly ONE GAME better than you in our own home stadium, you big meanie. So take THAT!”
I really hope that sounded better in your head since 2000, Texas has won 5 of 6 in your home stadium

In the last fifty years, since the draft ended…the mighty Texas whore(n)s have only won about one or two more games than A&M in the series. You take away the war year records…when the draft dodging Austin kiddies hid out…and the Aggies went to war..the record is surprisingly close.

quote:I know you may be shocked to hear this, but plenty of people from Texas were drafted. So that excuse is just that: an excuse. And a lousy one to hide the fact that your pathetic school has never accomplished anything. And if you didn’t serve yourself but are trying to steal someone else’s valor (like you yourself are doing), it’s beyond cringe

Isn’t the aggies ONLY championship from the war years? So you’re saying the only history a&m has doesn’t count? And wasn’t the last championship for army (an actual military academy and not some desperate wannabe that plays dress up like a&m) during the 1940s? Didnt seem to be affecting them
I’m sure you’ll run away and hide from responding to these facts that destroy your narrative, but you gotta admit: the jokes literally write themselves for you rejects
