Not really, a single elimination first round and then double elimination from then on out. Not really complex for a baseball tournament

Mizzou has good pitching. If you have good pitching on Tuesday and play defense you can win. Plus, we have not played well all season in midweek games and I have no doubt Kingston will go with one of our midweek pitchers vs Mizzou and hope to get five or six innings out of whomever it is that he picks.
Mizzou, on the other hand, will throw the kitchen sink because they have to win three games in Hoover to make the post season in all likelihood.

I agree.
I think LSU has to win two games in the Tourney to get in.
IF they find a way to win 2 in Hoover they’ll probably go on and just win the whole damn thing.

Tournament format is beyond stupid. It actually discourages most teams from even trying to win it.
This would be much better for all:
Single Elimination/All teams make it/Top 2 teams get a bye/3-14 play opening round games/maximum # of games for any team is 4 (3 for the top two seeds)/teams won’t kill their pitching staffs to try to win it/more fan friendly as 13 games are played instead of 17/cuts one day off.
As it stands now, the upper seeds don’t even try to win it. This format gives them more incentive to win because they don’t have to expend as much effort to actually win it.

The tournament format is fine, it's built around the NCAA model. Rather than invite all teams, if anything they should cut some teams and make it simply a double-elimination tourney.
I get why they do it the way they do it ... to give some bubble teams a chance to earn their way into the NCAAs, but it is counter-productive for 5-12 especially.
