Much, much, much better. I figured the old renderings were trash compared to what the architects usually put out. This looks far more real.

there isnt that much tailgating in that specific surface lot to begin with. that's where the really old big money Ags park.

He's right...this doesn't bother me much. The best tailgating is Reed/Spence, not there.

Curious to see how that works out. One of the reasons they chose not to build from scratch was because of parking. The AD has never spent any money building parking--it's all come out of Transportation Services on the basis that it's used for school more than atheltics. While the "A" lot behind the west stands would be a logical spot for Transportation Services to build another garage, I'm not sure that they are planning to do so anytime soon, and I can't see the AD spending money on this.

As to that being a tailgate area, right now, that area is 99% blacktop, and it contains numbered reserved spots for the really big money Ags. With the expansion, and increase in club seating, it would make sense to park more BMAs (Big Money Ags) in that space, but it wouldn't be popular with the folks who park there currently (I know a couple that has a spot in this lot). Parking garages are a pain to get out of, and easy egress is as much a selling point for that lot as is proximity.

Rain, early kick-off, opponent who moves no one's needle.

Seems about right.

Now UF and LSU experienced something far different--and understandably so.

Those parking garages aren't going to affect anything. That's never been a tailgating lot. It makes perfect sense to put the garages there.

Honest question, who had the best tailgating in the big 12?

I know UTs blows and most of my ut friends don't travel very much.

Oh, and the OP contains the pictures of the finest stadium in the SEC.

Setting the standard one day at a time.

This is the rendering I had seen, glad it is finally out there! The cover on the East Deck is still an option, they are looking at it more for appearance and keeping the volume in though than for shade as the angle of the sun still leaves that side exposed most of the time.

The parking garages are necessary because they are putting in a ridiculous amount of luxury seating and right now only have the small parking lot next to the stadium. If you are asking people to spend $20k per seat they are going to want good parking. We also are losing parking on the Southeast side of Kyle due to the new football facilities. You just can't have enough premium parking. Those folks also aren't your hard core tailgaters and the best tailgating is currently Spence/Reed. My guess is they continue to try to build up some other tailgate specific areas that they give special access to like on the Simpson Drill Field.

Apparently they are talking about taking the current jumbotron and putting it where the Rev Scoreboard is on the North End Zone as well.

Neither of those things stopped me or I Ham that I Ham?

Maybe Aggies are just soft. I have had my suspicions that Texas is actually the softest state in the union and that all this "big" talk is just to throw the rest of the nation off your scent. I think I'm onto something here...

Of course it was A&M, probably followed by NU.

There is no good tailgating in the Big 12. Not even in Norman.

Politics are different now than they used to be. Football is pretty much getting what they want, though there are still battles to be had. I also don't think the garages will be the 6 level type that are common on campus because it they would decrease the value of the spots as you mentioned. A 2 or 3 story garage though is a different story. Wouldn't shock me if they just made the roof into a tailgating area just for BMA's, tailgate with a view!
