Frank Wilson get's lauded as some great recruiter yet all I've seen since Clyde Edwards-Hellaire left is a bunch of shite running backs. Most of it is old guys saying how much they loved him. Similar to Tommy Moffitt. Everyone misses you when you're gone. LSU will be no better or no worse for his departure.

It isn't as huge of a get as you think. I'm glad he's gone to be honest. His RB development and rotation has been terrible the past few years. I'm sure when a RB is hot and is pulled for one off the bench, you are going to be so happy! LSU needed a change at the RB coach anyway.

Frank Wilson is a good man, but not a great RB coach.

Frank was at Ole Miss from 2005-2007

Ole Miss
3-8
4-8
3-9

LSU won a title in 2007 before Frank arrived in 2010.

LSU lost a title in 2011 with Frank on staff.

LSU won a title in 2019 before Frank rejoined the staff in 2020.

TL;DR - He did not do much at Ole Miss the first time, and LSU has been largely more successful without him.

That’s hilarious coming from
An ole miss fan. You have won nothing. Your one playoff experience will be short lived. This is such a brief moment in the history of ole miss football. As I said, frank wilson has not excelled as a coach. THAT is why he’s no longer here. Because the recruit rankings don’t match the production. It’s really that simple. If he was good he would be staying here. Ole miss is a fart in the wind.

Ehh, he was awesome from 2010-2015. Great recruiter and it feels like our team rushed for about 20,000 yards in those few seasons.

Past 4 years have reflected poorly on Frank.

I like Frank Wilson, I wish LSU would have retained him, but, if you think Frank Wilson out recruits a RB against a Lane Kiffin offense and 40 million in NIL then you are wrong.

Coming from a Bama fan, that is peak hypocrisy.

Having said that, LSU and Bama might just be 1a and 1b in this category.

You've got a pussy between your legs.

There's no other possible explanation for why you are the way you are.

Come on man. Brad Davis was absolute dog shite. Guy could recruit but LSU has been last in the conference in Rushing YPG the last two seasons and your Oline was absolutely stacked with NFL talent in 2024.

Point, yes, but look at our depth chart from 2022 to now.

If Wilson's recruiting, it's not RB's.

Brad Davis has been here for 4 years, just like Frank. Even so, we had good offense for 3 years, despite his failure as a coach.

RB is only position thats produced less in each consecutive year.

2022 - 5 scholarship RB's
Josh Williams and Noah Cain led for 900 yards and 16 TD's
1700 yards and 28 TD's overall

2023 - 7 scholarship RB's
Logan Diggs and Josh Williams led for 900 yards and 12 TD's
1400 yards and 24 TD's overall

2024 - 4 scholarship RB's(Trey Holly was arrested before the season and Ju'Juan Johnson is converted to whatever position we're light at throughout the season)
Caden Durham and Josh Williams led for 1200 yards and 12 TD's
1400 yards and 12 TD's overall

2025 - 3 scholarship RB's(JT Lindsey was arrested before the season and Ju'Juan Johnson practiced as a QB in the spring)
Caden Durham and Harlem Berry led for 900 yards and 5 TD's
The whole team rushed for almost 1300 yards and 9 TD's over all, but the rest of those stats came from wide receivers and quarterbacks

I don't follow recruiting very closely, but with Frank here, we still lose top 10 players out of New Orleans every year.

Moscona made a pretty good point (crazy I know).

The Stewart kid last years #1 overall player. The New Orleans DE that went to USC. Frank Wilson bent over backwards to get this kid moved from St. Aug to Karr so he can graduate early. And what did the kid do to repay him? By taking more money to go to USC. Thanks Frank lol. Money moves these players now, not relationships. Frank was good at getting NOLA, but he is obsolete now. Its all about NIL now. What can you offer the kid? Branding opportunities.

Pretty dumb. Everyone knows Wilson wanted to stay at LSU, but Kiffin preferred to bring in his own guy.

Do you really believe Ole Miss "stole" LSU's RB coach?

And see, this is why I would much rather have Wilson on LSU's sideline than not have Wilson on LSU's sideline.

You still can't ignore what he's done, or not done, rather, with the position group in his care. We're in real trouble at RB, and he put us there.

It seems like Kiffin wanted to keep Frank and bring in Kevin Smith as well. Maybe neither man's ego would have allowed them to share coaching responsibility for 1 position, so who really knows.

Swapping RB coaches is probably the best realistic scenario for LSU's favor.

Wilson goes to Texas, and there's no guarantee we hire away Kevin Smith.
