wow

Damn, that is some insightful commentary there William. You mean top 5 picks get paid more in their first contract than 2nd rounders?

Contrary to popular opinion, they are not tanking. But we do have a very young roster that management knows won't be a contender. So they are not going to pointlessly put up with any veterans with bad attitudes that are not in their long term plans who want to be negative influences on the development of what could be a very solid team in 2-3 years.

This seems like a cap move more than anything. LF7 has wanted out of Jacksonville. This makes him a free agent, it will be interesting to see where he lands although IDNGAS.

Gotta say if I were him and had $18 Million, I might not play again. I mean you can live very comfortably on $18 million and if he doesn't play anymore will be able to walk in 20 years instead of limping around and having pain all the time.

How so? What big addition are the Jags trying to bring in that would require them needing 5 million in cap space? If anything they need a new running back now.

Top 5 rushing leader in those years too. I guess facts and stats are hard for you.

Not quite. He was #8 in 2017 and #7 in 2019.

He’s lucky to have seen half of that after taxes and agents. But your point is still a good one.

Looks like the move was more due to self centered ego and bad locker room/team issues. Wouldn’t be the first NFL physical talent who’s career was derailed by his mental midgeticy. According to reports, Jags couldn’t even get a 5th round draft choice for him. His attitude must be way worse than reported.

You can't expect anything else from this board.

But I don't think he was "cut" as much as released to save money. And no, not one suck arse on this board would attempt to tackle this dude!

I wouldn't even bother. Most of the troglodytes on this board will use this as porn material while they're jacking each other off for the next month.

no it makes him a restricted free agent in the forth year of his rookie contract with a guaranteed salary of 4.17 million and that's why teams aren't beating a path to his door.

Absolutely, and I've been watching this team since it's inception.

I'm not really surprised at them cutting him... there's been no love loss since getting into an on field fight, in a game he wasn't playing in... and that same season he and T J Yeldon having a pity party. That isn't team from either player.

As far as the arse hats talking about a stacked box, that happens a lot to every team near the goal line, right? M J-D had a shitty line, too.

Yeah. I wasn't thinking of agents and taxes. If he comes out with half....$9 million....most financial experts will say you can take 4% a year and a cost of living raise every year your nest egg will last at least 30 years and maybe longer. That's what $360,000 a year? Yeah. I could live off that. Invest it wisely and it could be much more than that. He won't starve to death. Probably not what he envisioned, but pretty good for 3 years work and walk away with your health.

Again..."Marrone said the Jaguars tried to trade Fournette but couldn't find any takers."

So nobody wanted to trade away resources for a pretty high price, for a position that frankly isn't essential in the league anymore? Shocker.

Fournette will land on another team unless he wants to retire, I strongly suspect. And I see him stepping in as the starter wherever he goes. If he ends up at a team with an established and stable QB, his career will be a lot better than it had been.
