He did abuse our 215 lbs LBs and our DB who benched 225 lbs twice. Which proves my point.

Jim Brown is nothing but a bitter racist who needs to spend a LOT more time practicing his movie lines.

Oh wait, never mind. His career has been a bit sparse ever since the fine performance he gave in "Running Man".

Anyone with any amount of mental capacity knows that if you took some of the great players from the old days and plugged them into todays NFL they would suck.

The problem is that you wouldnt just plug them in to todays NFL. They would grow up in the new systems, with the new workout programs and new nutritional programs and they would be a completely different player in todays game than they were when they played. Maybe they would be as good as they were, maybe not.

But for one of them to say a damn thing about anyone playing in todays game is ludicrous since on their best day they never had to deal with anything like the opposition these guys deal with on the field every single game.

Yes, I have, and I dont think he was an ounce better than Bo Jackson. Bo's career was just cut tragically short before he was able to make Jim look silly. In fact, I think Bo is probably the ONLY player from the old NFL that would make the transition to the new game with little to no dropoff in performance. Of course, his brand of NFL wasnt quite as dated as Jim's, but it was still pretty easy compared to today's.

Let's address your other dumbass statements. So the S&C programs would not make them better players ? So the college players today are much better then the pro players of yesterday ? I guess Namath would have suck also.
Jim Brown had the power and speed to play in any era. He played against teams that knew the Browns were going to run JB 90% of the time. TR played against 3 good defenses last year (LSU, PSU-?, LSU),the rest were average at best.

Half weren't ranked in the 100's in rush defense.

The backs today (all of them) are more 'special' than in Brown's era. They are expected to pick up complex blitz something unheard of in his day.

ETA; If a dude can contribute in the paasing game (not pick up the blitz) he rides the pine, no matter how stellar a college career he may have had.

I think TR#3 will be a hall of famer in the NFL and will be in the top 5 RB's ever to play NFL football. And that's why Jim Brown is so out spoken as he feels TR#3 will be better than he was and over shadow his legacy in Cleveland...JMHO

I said maybe they would, maybe they wouldn't, I never said they wouldn't. That was my whole point dumbass.

That and the fact that they still should keep their fricking mouths shut because players today are doing 3 and 4 times what they did back then because the game has become so complex.

They didn't have to do 1/4th of what players have to do now days. Period.

Now go ahead and pick the parts of this post that u can pull away from the rest and take them completely out of context some more. It's the only way you know how to argue.

I hope TR does well because he really is good person. All last year I wondered how would he fair in the NFL, because he was really dominate against lesser talent. When Bama played LSU he had to fight for every inch. So is his performance against LSU a sign of how he will look in the NFL?

I'm pretty sure the game plan for just about everyone--including LSU--was selling out to stop LSU, and making AJ beat you with his arm.

NFL teams won't be like that.

Someone mentioned Ingram--I didn't really have great expectations for his NFL career, even before the 'aints were crippled by the NFL.

Which is shocking, since NO and the whole state of LA isn't known for rampant corruption.
