The fans are nasty.

quote:

The former Alabama defensive was asked during a fan Q&A, which was hosted by ProCamps Facebook page, his least favorite opponent.

"I’d say Tennessee. I don’t know why, probably that orange,” Mayden said. “I think it was that orange, something about that orange, it’s nasty. Then the stadium, playing at their stadium, the away locker room is nasty. It’s all disgusting. The field is kind of, the stadium is shaped kinda weird. The fans are nasty.

Seems legit.

I've been to Knoxville 4-5 times over the years and always thought the fans were pretty friendly. Maybe it's different for a rivalry game though. But I'm in full agreement on the stadium, Neyland is an absolute dump.

Yea, but the Vol Navy tailgating scene is pretty cool. Much like the tailgating scene around U.of Wash.'s stadium.

I s'pose, stereotypically speaking. Tennessee, Kentucky, and West Virginia's backcountry residents are markedly different than those belonging to the Low Country.

They generally share the same interests, though, and uphold similar ideologies and religious values.

Oh come on, Neyland is just a classic college football cathedral. You can feel the history and ghosts of the past when there. Plus the renovations in the past 5/10 have made it a lot better experience from a comfort standpoint. I'm biased sure, but I've always thought the Neyland experience is rather charming.

Also our fanbase in general has really mellowed out in the past 10/15 years. We are good folks to watch a game with generally if you are an away fan.

Middle and West Tennessee fans are our rednecks. The East Tennesseans our are mountain folk. We have a unique mix of characters in our fanbase.

You are incredibly biased because Neyland is one of the worst stadiums in CFB.

I mean the backdrop is amazing, but the stadium itself is horribly outdated. Compare it to Bryant Denny or Kyle Field, it’s not even close.
