LSU didn't fully commit to football until Saban came along.

LOL

Which means LSU was mediocre till Saban arrived

The true statement is

LSU always cared about football but was not good at it until Saban arrived

I’m no McCarron fan by any stretch, but people forget that he was a single play away ($1 to Saban) from winning 3 BCS Championships in a row … something I haven’t seen before or since.

Georgia was pretty close to this in 2023. And I’m not complaining bc I didn’t want to see Georgia win 3 in a row but … there were some very very questionable calls in the 2023 SEC championship game that went Bama’s way..

If the 12 team playoff existed in 2023 then UGA easily wins it all for a third straight time

If Bama didn't get jobbed in '77, they win 3 in a row.

The facilities were shite when Saban arrived. Saban convinced LSU to make a high level investment in football and off they went.

I have always said that when Jeremy Pruitt isn't actually coaching defense on a football field that he's dumber than a box of rocks. This story helps confirm my suspicions.

The Great Pumpkin is Alabama daddy. Don't have too much love for ole Phil but no one can deny how he beat the Tide

Yeah, well, this is when I knew it was all over for the Great Pumpkin. Crimson all over the stadium, especially large numbers of seats between the 40 yard lines sold by fat cat boosters. They knew it was over before this game started, and they didn't want to be anywhere near it.

Joe Burrow

1-1 vs Alabama
Shut out by Alabama
Claims a whopping 4-point win over Alabama, but is oddly quiet about 29 point loss to Alabama

I have a feeling Pruitt misread the address on purpose. What a silly job you got me on Nick…what am I supposed to do punch kiffens in the balls?

On the other hand, Joe Burrow dropped his nuts on Alabama’s face in front of a sitting US President before he became the Heisman, National Championship MVP and the #1 overall pic

Joe was pretty impressive given lsu’s limitations on defense that year compared to other title teams.
