only a really lucky few can be Ole Miss texans. Not only are they better than normal people, but they are doubly better because Ole Miss folks are better than everyone else.
Ole Miss texans truly are the best of the best.

Absolutely false.

While it is true that many of the Texas kids at Ole Miss could not get into Texas that is not the case with me. I got a 30 on my ACT and was ranked 12th out of a graduating class of close to 600. I came to Ole Miss because I wanted to go to school in the south and the accounting school is extremely competitive.

A 9-3 season would not be a tragedy for us and I'm an Ole Miss student too. Anything less than winning the West would be really disappointing to me, but it's still an OK season. Any student that gets this upset over a 9-3 season obviously hasn't been an Ole Miss fan for very long. I've been a fan since I was a little kid, and 9-3 is as good as anything I've witnessed.

there are some 2010 NFL mock drafts out that forecast several teams on OM schedule putting more players in the NFL at the end of the year than OM. However, the number 1 x factor is the QB posistion and right now Snead is the predicted #2 guy. The predictions do not mean alot other than the guys that study this shite for a living probabaly think Alabama, Auburn, Tennessee, South Carolina, and LSU are going to put more guys in the NFL after the season which I guess that means all those teams have more talent in their roster according to the scouts.

Judging by that number a person would think Ole Miss should be about 3-5 in conference. 3-5 to 5-3 is about where OM should live each year if you break down the recruiting base and budgets of each program. BUT, one thing people do not notice is that Houston Nutt is a genuis at getting guys to max out their potential. I can't tell you the amount of guys he's put in the NFL that were drafted high but busted in the league. That suggests to me they played better for him than what they really were. I've also noticed he was 42-38 in conference in 10 years at Arkansas and there is no way a program with that weak of a recruiting base should be over .500 b/c only Vandy and Kentucky traditionally put fewer guys in the league.

I'd say 4-4 should be what is logically accepted within conference play this year. But, I think Nutt has this program filled with alot of emotion and confidence right now. I think they finished the year strong but the rest of the league was down. Expectations are overly inflated right now but I think the team will do ok with it.

You're a liar, and a bad one at that.
30 on the act puts you up around the 95th percentile.
You'll never convince me that 95% of people are dumber than you, so don't try.

I don't agree with your sentiments toward Nutt but if this is what you bring to the table, post more often. We need more good contributers.

Houston Nutt will choke just like he always did when expectations were high at Arkansas, even with a joke of an OOC schedule and a team loaded with Orgeron's players.

I hope Malzahn hangs 100 on that lying scumbag.

Stunna, you're becoming my favorite ole miss poster but if you could have gotten into UT's McCombs school of business and opted for ole miss, that really isn't saying much about your smarts.

hogfan1999,

It takes a real good coach to create high expectations for his program. I wouldn't say he "choked" as much as I'd say the SEC is just extremely competitive and balanced.

The thing to remember about Arkansas is that their natural recruiting base only allows them to typically out-recruit Vandy and Kentucky which are 2 teams that some years they don't even play. So, by my calculation if they can just win a couple conference games per year Arkansas fans should be satisfied. Nutt always did that but usually won more.

I think it is 98th percentile actually. It doesn't seem to be THAT rare at Ole Miss. Several of my friends got 34s and I have two or three more friends who got 31s. The ACT scores don't really seem to have a middle range here. It is either dumabasses with 18s or intelligent people with 30s.

And it really makes me question your intelligence that you "can't believe" that somebody got only a THIRTY. A 30 really isn't THAT impressive at all and it worries me that you would think so.

I regret it all the time; especially considering the fact my little brother is going to Texas for Petroleum Engineering in a year (and he's going to make twice the salary I'll make out of college).

But in reality, Ole Miss really does have a top accounting program. The school itself is ranked like 100 but the accounting school is top 15ish.

No regrets though, Ole Miss is fun.

Great post. Our team does NOT have the talent that LSU/Bama/etc have but we do have Houston Nutt. As gay as it sounds, Houston Nutt is what is going to propel this team to Atlanta.

Na Cdawg, the accounting school is pretty good. It's like the one school worth a shite at Ole Miss.

To the subject of getting a 30...congratulations? I gots one of those too. As you can tell stunna, that says zero about intelligence. You're as smart as me. I'd probably cry if that was the case.

But yes other than those two we got nothing. I think the Business school is finally in the top 100. Whoopy!
