EDIT: and "simulating" the games on NCAA 04 does NOT constitute a "computer"

hahaha I forgot I wrote this but it is so accurate.

I always thought in my accounting classes, that someone could probably come up with a better process for it to make it easier.

A better process for what?
Yeah I think most engineers with over 10 years of experience or so who work for good companies are pulling at least 100 but usually closer to 150.
cool but for every ONE of those guys there's 1000 engineers/accountants/lawyers who are making that much more than some management or marketing major.

And you can make a bunch of money in sales, but that's something that is difficult to teach and is more intuitive. Sales is tough, but if you're good at it the sky is the limit.

EDIT: I'm not saying that you absolutely cannot do well majoring in a shitty business major, however you are absolutely putting yourself at a disadvantage when juxtaposed with people who have majored in legitimate majors.
agreed. I enjoyed my 3 years in a fraternity but it gets old fast. It was fun meeting people/going to swaps/date parties/formals but I'm glad I'm done with that.

The big college secret is to save your money by going to a cheaper school for undergrad and spend all your money on a big time school for graduate school.

This guy gets it. Not to mention, your graduate degree is far more important to employers than your undergraduate degree.

My dad did this. He got a full scholarship to Nevada and then went to graduate school at a private school in California that is considered one of the best schools in the country.

So why post it for everybody else to answer the goddamn question?

Because his major and the classes he will be taking are the most important part of college.

As I stated in a post above, he's going to get drunk and have fun ANYWHERE he goes (especially at an SEC school) so who cares? Go to the school that has a good program for what he is doing and the school that his parents can afford (debt sucks)

OP:

Accounting: Ole Miss (top 20)

Engineering: Auburn (my dad is an electrical engineer and he has commented multiple times on how strong the engineering program is at Auburn)

Management: Shoot yourself

Marketing: See above

Pharmacy: Ole Miss (great program)

Medicine: Probably either, just depends on where you want to work

Political Science: you're an idiot.
No, but attending class is absolutely part of the college experience dumbass. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm fairly certain the number one reason someone goes to college is to get a degree?

And what did you major in big guy?
quote:

The "College Experience" for me doesn't include academia

jesus.
quote:

FAIL.

haha you mad about your poli-sci major big guy? Don't fret; I've heard Taco Bell is hiring.
quote:

Make it worth it an get a job in accounting or engineering.

This. If you're a math guy do engineering, otherwise do accounting. Majoring in management, marketing, political science, etc are all for dumbasses who can't handle a legitimate major.

hahahha the captions are priceless "IT'S A TUFF LIFE" hahahaah jesus christ. Nice jerseys corndogs.
Good post by this guy.

I'm sorry but "gameday atmosphere" really shouldn't factor into where you spend the next four years of your life considering you're probably a 5'7 155 pound white kid who played 7th grade football exclusively.

And, as the poster two above said, you're going to find parties and hot girls ANYWHERE you go (as long as you don't go to Lehigh or GA Tech or something), especially in SEC schools. It's college; you're going to get drunk and have fun regardless of where you attend school so think about your future first.

I would agree. Investment banks don't want internal auditors, they want 22 year old Ivy league grades for their analysts, and especially ones who are willing to devote 80-100 hours a week to their job.

You have been doing accounting work, but are you a CPA? If so, have you beeinvolved in any business valuation projects? What has been and what will continue to be a very hot speciality in accounting is forensic accounting, which includes business valuation and many other disciplines. Most of the larger local/regional accounting firms have increased the size of their dispute resolution practices so think about it. I am a Big 4 audit manager and know about the industry.

I'm a senior accounting major right now hoping to get a Big 4 internship for the Spring of 2010. So would you suggest one get involved in Forensic Accounting? It is still considered "audit", correct?
yeah I would boo the hell out of coach O....Duke, why didn't you want to boo coach O doggy? He is a completely joke.
oh, and to the OP: why the frick are you picking a college based on their fricking football program? Are you kidding me?

More importantly, what are you planning on majoring in?
If you major in business you're wasting your time, everyone knows this. Marketing, Management, etc are all bullshite majors for dumb people.
