Y’all will eventually face someone with a competent quarterback and a non Mickey Mouse passing game scheme. Hell, look what LSU did in the second half and what tOSU did before y’all knocked out their #1 wr.

Yeah, I mean UGA only faced the #5, #10, #14 and #17 passing offenses. We held them to 13, 19, 41 and 3 points respectively. All wins.

Those were yards per game. In terms of yards per attempt we played #1, #2, #8, #10 and #24. Gave up 13, 41, 7, 3 and 7.

UGA was #4 in yards per attempt.

The funny thing is one of those games (#14) turned into a shootout and UGA still won... because UGA had the #15 passing offense in the nation last year. We can actually win shootouts.

Exactly how high was Steele when he came up with these rankings?

The jealousy is rampant. They like to say that Georgia didnt played anyone.
They need to look at who we played before they spout nonsense. Georgia ran Oregon out of Mercedes Benz to open the 2022 season. Several regular season rivals were ranked before UGA destroyed them and they disappeared from the rankings. They then whipped SEC W champ LSU in the SECCG , Beat THE Ohio St and annihilated an overrated TCU who beat Michigan.
In a one year span Georgia beat Clemson, Cincy, Michigan, Oregon, Alabama, THE OSU, LSU, TCU
(winners over Michigan) and whipped up on the SEC. All for a 29-1 record and a perfect 2022 season and two back to back natties Can’t do it much better than this.

When the game was in hand and the defense was taking a siesta.
I have a great deal of respect for LSU...but let's not pretend Georgia was in danger of losing that game. Ever.

Those two teams are ranked ahead of them.

Jimmies and Joes still matter. UGA's probably only #1 because we've had some successes with lower ranked recruits (guys like Ladd McConkey), where Bama missed on some bigger name recruits (Brokemeyer, Hall, etc)

Bama doesn't have a significantly better roster than any team on that list. It just seems like Steele is giving Bama the benefit of doubt. They have had stud QBs the last few years. Not so much this year, but only time will tell. I just can't look at the Bama team from last year to this year, and say that I think Bama will improve.

Clempson and FSU have no business in the top 10. No school in history has been as overrated as FSU in the preseason rankings.

Unfortunately, I agree. The schedule is charmin soft & what Kirbs has built is downright impressive. Just like last season, we already know the outcome in spring.

I'm sorry, this is false. Bama has a WAY better roster than everyone on the list with the possible exceptions of UGA and maybe OSU (who would be equivalent, not better).

247 hasn't released this year's list yet, but last year Bama had 75 players who were 4 or 5 star. The next closest were UGA (68), OSU (66), Texas (59), A&M (56), ND (53), Clemson/Oregon/OU (51) and Miami (46).

Having 15-25 more blue chip players is an incredibly significant edge in talent.

It’s long overdue. Georgia has been on the brink of the ultimate success for years. And now here it is. At last!
And things look to be great for years to come. It’s incredible to be a Georgia Bulldawg. Always has been but it’s even sweeter now

Touché. I mean Ed freaking Orgeron and Les Miles won championships at LSU. Kelly was a top 5-10 coach before coming on board.

What Ed Orgeron did that Kelly at LSU couldn't do was to beat Kirby and UGA so far.

Georgia has Kirby not a 72 year old guy who has the personality of a doorknob. That’s a huge advantage.

You can say many things about saban and be accurate. Having the personality of a doorknob is not one of them.
