The Sipp in Oxford is way better than City

I've lived in or near Athens for 23 years, and I have never even heard of the place listed for it.
It's (Five Bar) across the corner from The Last Resort. It's been around probably 10 years. It's where people go when the line at Last Resort is over a 30 minute wait. It's not a bad place, but best in Athens is ridiculous.
Better-
The Last Resort
The National
Seabear
Five and Ten
Cali N Tito's
just off the top of my head...

There have to be at least 5 better restaurants in Fayetteville

Calhouns is fine for a chain. Away fans are seemingly more obsessed with it than actual folks who live in Knoxville. Sure it's cool how it is on the river and all, but it's not the most epic BBQ joint ever.
For UT, Gus's Good Times Deli is the ultimate college town dive. It's essentially on campus. Been around for 40 years now. Open seven days a week until 4am. Has one of the best, if not the best, drunk food in all of the SEC. Generations of UT students and alums are united in their love and nostalgia of Gus's. One is not a true UT alum if you didn't spend your last 10 bucks in your wallet at 3AM to conclude a night of drinking on a hot steamed deli sandwich or cheeseburger. So many good memories at Gus's Good Times Deli.

When I went to SC, I thought the Shrimp and Grits at the Blue Marlin were so damn good. Some of the best grits I have ever had. Could have the grits solo.

Arguing over "which is the best restaurant and drinking dive' is like discussing which cheerleader is the cutest or which Miss America is the most beautiful. It is all in the eye of the observer.

“If you are traveling up on hwy 65 in southeast Arkansas there’s Hoot’s BBQ in Mcgehee right on the highway. It’s good”
What? Hoots is 293 miles from the UofA campus in Fayetteville. Is that where you eat before or after a game? SMH

I was talking to those from other teams who may travel from Mississippi and Louisiana and such who may drive through there on the way to a game.
SMH…

For me... in no particular order because it really comes down to what I'm in the mood for and which one I haven't had in a while...
Hugo's - I love the Derek's Special. Their fries are incredible. Burgers are also some of the best anywhere.
Herman's - Honestly not quite as good as when I was in grad school in the 90's but still amazing.
Cafe Rue Orleans - As odd as it may sound, this is the best South Louisiana cuisine you will find outside of the NOLA/BR area. New Orleans native relocated to NWA 20+ years ago and brought her family recipes with her. Seriously - authentic and fresh Louisiana food (dem crawfish slept in the bayou last night, cher)
Catfish Hole - Love the fish. The unlimited puppies, slaw, relish and pickles are awesome too.
Wright's BBQ - I've had ALL of KC's best bbq (Joe's, SLAPs, Jack Stack, Q39, Gates, Bryant's) and Wright's is better. They do pulled pork, ribs, chicken and sausage better than anybody. But they also do a brisket that can't be beat. I don't generally order brisket because ribs and pulled pork are preferred. But at Wright's you must have the brisket.

Not close to the best.

At Kentucky, that place is Tolly Ho. It used to be on campus, but a few years ago they relocated to what I would call the edge of campus. Open 24 hrs. Get a Ho burger, cheddar Tots, pitcher of beer before sales stop at 230.

The food in Starkville must be terrible.
I know Archibald's is not technically in Tuscaloosa, it's in Northport, but not including it is a crime. Best ribs I've ever had.

Been to Last Resort, 5 and 10, and Cali N Tito's, all are good places. The Hound in Auburn is solid, but there are other places too, like Amsterdam Cafe, Acre, Depot, or Pannie George's if you want some good home cooking.

Love the Dixie Chicken in CS. Great place and love the atmosphere.
Give me Mike Andersons in Baton Rouge any day strictly for food.

I too have had all the best in ST Louis, KC, Memphis, and Im from Austin and had ALL the best down there, and Wright's stacks up with the best of the best.

Layne's in CS is the true original chicken finger joint not the popular BR-based chain that copied the idea.
