As bad as the call in the bama game was, Auburn had back to back bad calls in overtime that would give the game to A&M in most circumstances. Announcing couldn’t stop talking about how bad they were. I still believe the SEC office protects playoff teams. I think other conferences do too. But I also admit that in general the field officials are doing the best they can. It’s not an easy job.

I agree with your take on officiating, but not with throwing things on the field.

Going to a college game is a privilege not a right. Respect it or lose it.

I don’t think SEC officials know what pass interference is.

Man I agree.

Last night we had a touchdown floating to our best receiver and the defender horsecollared him from catching it. No call.

Then two plays later, a phantom offensive pass interference yanked us back 15 yards after a play got us to the two.

It’s either refs being paid off or refs being so incompetent they shouldn’t be out there.

Freeze said he was ready to fight someone after that bullshite. Maybe if a coach decks one of those assholes, it might bring more spotlight into how much officiating is swinging the results of games.

Seriously.

Look, the officiating was bad. And I say that as one. But resorting to throwing shite on the field isn't the answer

It worked for Texas. The referees and the SEC allowed a precedent to be set.

Apparently it is in certain situations. The precedent has been set.

Here’s an idea…let’s start by moving the SEC HQ out of Birmingham AL ??.

It’s hilarious how the Bama crowd gets incensed when they have to deal with the hegemony the rest of us regularly live with as a matter of course. Welcome to our life ?? and pull up a chair

A Bama "fan" bitching about officiating. This is hilarious.

It didn't "set a precedent," but delayed the game long enough for them to walk back on their errant way.

If "trashing the field" is the takeaway fans have on reviewing/reversing outright corrupt officiating, then we're in a really bad spot, because there's no other means to hold them accountable. They are employed by the conference, the same body who levies fines against coaches who speak up and criticize their work.

Sadly, there have been enough examples of poor officiating to alter the outcome of a game.

Just because you were/are in the military doesn't automatically mean they are going to be good at officiating. I'm in the profession. It's not for everyone.

Or, bring in neutral refs from outside the conferences.

I'm good with this. This is what the NCAA does in basketball. There is no conference affiliation

Oh it allowed a precedent, and not a good one

Quit trying to rationalize it.

It's always was a joke. But bama got most of the calls in your favor so y'all didn't notice it much.

I don’t think anyone would categorize LSU/USC, Auburn/TAM, Auburn/Arkansas, or Alabama/OU as particularly important games. The only reason fans remember them is the atrocious officiating.
