The reason your SOS is so high after the season is because you end up playing good teams in the SEC championship and your bowl game(s). Its not a result of your scheduling

Well why don't the teams we play at the end of the year have a better SOS than us then?

Can’t help it if you have to play LSU every year.

So Bama plays cupcakes all year, then they play a couple good teams at the end and that puts them in the top 10 (strength of schedule)?? Man those last couple teams must be REALLY OUTSTANDINGLY GOOD to raise the average from easy (cupcake level) to top 10 level.....

Because UT is garbage and brings our SOS down.

Lol! I mean c'mon! All these fans of schools in our conference whining about BAMA's schedule and it's their programs that make our schedule look bad!

I'm enjoying the irony.

Bama’s schedule is easy because they don’t have to play Bama.

At the end of the day, if Alabama finishes with the #1 SOS, that means that the team that they played in the NCG obviously had an easier schedule to get there than they did. Look at Clemson when Alabama played them when both made the final game in the playoffs - Alabama finished higher in SOS than they did.

No one cried that Clemson had an easier schedule than Alabama.

Everyone wants to cry and moan about it; however, Alabama has control over a whopping 4 games each year. They've almost always scheduled a strong OOC game to start the year, played a couple of G5s, and one FCS (which I wish we would do away with, personally, bare minimum). The conference slate? Out of their hands.

With MSU, LSU, and Auburn on the schedule? What if Tenn comes out and beats WVa to start their season? What if Mizzou makes a miracle run and wins the East?

You never know.

Auburn or Bama finished #1 every year with the exception of 2011. Insane.

because this is the SEC Rant. its about escaping the SEC. i dont give a shite about Clemson or any other conference when it comes to SOS. its a fact that Bama has had am easier route to atlanta than any other sec west team. but its not an excuse, other teams need to beat em to to get to atlanta and they havent done that near enough.

If you just look at regular season, Bama is still in top 10 SOS every year starting with 2009 except one year (12th that year).

Saban actually wants to make it 12 P5 games for all P5 teams. No more G5's and FCS games but I guess there's a lot of coaches out there who don't want that.

I call bullshite on those rankings. They have Georgia as having the 3rd hardest schedule for this season. Have you seen their joke of a schedule?

You mean... like nick saban.

If saban wanted 12 p5s, he would have 12 p5s

That's factoring SEC championship game and playoffs.

I'd like to see SOS for regular season, that's where the argument is coming from. I don't care what team you are talking about, if you play in conference championship and playoffs youre getting big bump on total SOS.
