What the frick is the deal with that state and claiming national championships they didn’t win?

Are we 100% sure that Tuscaloosa isn’t in Florida?

I'm just glad this is the most important thing they needed to do right now. Public $$ at work.

All of Bamas national titles won were awarded by the outfit that determined them at the time. Whether it was the rose bowl champion, the ap and upi who awarded the titles before bowl games or whatever. Notre dame claims an insane amount of national titles but didn't play bowl games until the ap decided to award them after the bowls which gives the 3.

Now, go tell a Notre dame fan they only have 3 national football titles.

What Florida state and central Florida did is totally, completely, not in the same stratosphere different than anything Alabama.....or Notre dame...or usc...or Michigan...or Ohio state have done. Not even remotely related. Ask usc who won the 03 title. The ap was still an awarding body then. Because u don't agree with it doesn't mean it wasn't legit. Auburn proudly parades it's 1957 ap title that was awarded before the bowl games(which they didn't participate in because of probation) but Ohio state claims the upi but they've always gave us shite for a split 79 title with sc
Ask Miami and Washington, who won the 91 title.

U and everybody else, are gonna go with whatever narrative props up your team, minimizes another teams accomplishments and more importantly, just makes u feel better about your team.

Look up the word "retroactive" in the dictionary.........then do some research on bama's NC's.

ETA The dictionary is that book with all of the words you have under the leg of your coffee table.

My post was in reference to this gem

Whether you like it or not......that is unequivocal BS.

I’m sure you are proud too that Bama first recognized that 1941 Houlgate championship at least 40 years after it was awarded. And please
bring up 1966 not being claimed again.

Each university chooses or does not choose what to recognize. Obviously you as a fan can do the same. 21, 17, 12 or whatever means a lot less to non-Bama fans in general due to some jealousy but also due to the fixation on vague totals. Be proud of being the most accomplished CFB team of all time without being insecure. The title I made was obviously a joke & shiny hook always gets someone.

Then all Football Championships up until the playoffs are essentially “opinions”.

This is not going to go over well with my daughter who is an FSU graduate and loves to rag on her 3 cousins that go to UCF and UCF Medical School about their self-proclaimed 2017 national championship in football.

If we can’t claim a championship in a sport most dgaf about when we were #1 most of the year and only lost one game, then good luck FSU.
