Gators, are you really making motivational posters for Kentucky?

Save that for Bama at least

Meh, it's a pretty common trope in many football programs, successful or not. Alabama and Auburn have both done similar things. shite, my high school did it before the state championship. Whatever works.

First, that is a partial quote. Second, it's very flattering that little 'ole UK gets a traditional powerhouse in the SEC to need locker room fuel to play the traditional doormat.

quote:

"A couple of my (high school) teammates actually went to Florida, so I'm familiar with a lot of those guys," Kemp said. "It's going to be fun walking out with a victory and rubbing it in their faces."

Coach Stoops reaction to quote:

quote:

"I was furious. The thing is – I was outraged; I talked to him about it –- but the thing is, he was trying to make light of some friends that he has on this program. But like I told him yesterday, 'You think they're gonna hear all that? They're gonna hear the last five seconds of what you said.' And I know the great pride of the players in that locker room at Florida. I've been all through Florida. I've been at Miami, been at South Florida and been at Florida State. I know personally quite a few of those players and the pride that they have, and one thing: it's not very smart to try to challenge their pride before you play them. Believe me, I know them. And so I don't think that was very smart. It's not something that I teach. It's not how we talk. And really, if you listen to his whole conversation, he was quite humble and really handled himself the right way until the end. But again, that's just not very smart on our part, and we'll get that fixed."

Coach, we already know the story. This thread isn't about that. It's about laughing at Florida.

As pissed off as our guys were after last season, plus having to listen to it all offseason, not much motivation will be needed for any game. Still, when an opportunity presents itself...why not take advantage.

Agree 100%. In fact, good teams are the ones who are looking to find something to motivate them in weeks where the players expect to sleepwalk through.

This is all fun to laugh about, but it happens all the time. If Florida comes in flat and bored, Kentucky could be a little dangerous. If I were a coach, I'd be posting this on the wall to try to get some players focused on the what they need to do.

If Kentucky would go to a solid color helmet without the stripe that would be one sweet -arse uniform.

Are we entirely certain Joker Phillips was let go and not merely promoted to director of PR? Cause this has a very "Play for The Joker" kind of feel to it.

This is silly. That don't need motivation from a poster. After the injury riddled season last year, there's enough motivation there for a while.

I don't see the big deal either way. What he said wasn't a big deal and the poster and the UF player tweets about it aren't a big deal.

I hope the Cats make it competitive and everyone stays injury free.
