Kelly reached out to UF.

Stricklin needed a young, energetic recruiter without the quirkiness.

No. We're good. You've seen the teams Kelly puts on the field, right?

The ones that fold like wet paper when they play a team with a pulse?

Is this where we talk about Napier getting boatraced by 5-7 Texas this year?

What’s his signature win in his 4 years at ULL? Liberty?

Because y’all have done such a bang up job hiring your last three head coaches

No, but we learned our lesson. We just fired an abrasive, arrogant Northeasterner whose ego was much larger than his talent.

You seem really determined to convince yourself you made a good hire.

3-6 vs the SEC

It is what it is, you got your guy n we got ours. Good luck.

Based on the hire you made, I don’t think you did. You just hired another unproven coach who you hope works out, fingers crossed. Once upon a time, Boom was the next big thing...until he wasn’t. And you just hired a fun belt coach who is a huge gamble.

Florida never makes splash hires. The biggest splash they ever made was hiring Urban before he’d ever coached big time football...and they followed that up with Boom, shark fricker, and Mullen. And not to forget hiring Zook to replace Spurrier and then asked for Spurrier’s resume when he inquired about replacing Zook

You make some excellent points here.

That may be the moment I realized what a GOAT Spurrier really was. He trolled us so hard for years I didn't appreciate his true genius until he got humbled a bit (not much, mind you LOL) at Carolina.

All trolling aside, I think Napier is a great hire.

Just not the hire Woody was going to make. You hunt big game, you gotta bring home big game.

Napier is not today's big game. But he's got a great shot at putting Florida back in position to win a national title. I think Napier was the best up-and-comer out there. Certainly Urban was when they hired him.

How many P5 teams has Napier played in 4 years?

I’ll help you out. The answer is 5, and he lost 4 of them

You do realize your coach hasn’t really won the sun belt conference outright, right? The sun belt.

I'm all for the risk of trying to find the next big thing, no problem with our style. Sometimes it works. Sometimes it doesn't. No interest in us overspending for a "splash hire" for the sake of trying to win a PC. Think he would be a bad fit at UF, but maybe he works out for you guys. We'll see soon enough.
