If they both get there...

What is it with these teams?

5 matchups obviously wasn't enough. We definitely need a 6th.

Way too many. Almost unfair to both.

yeah i'd just assume not have to play Florida again but the other option would to not be a national seed so can't really complain.

UF got a shitty match up in the supers & cws (potentially) for being the #1 overall seed.

FSU is worse than they were last year. Inexcusable if UF gets bounced before Omaha.

that side of the bracket if LSU, A&M and Florida would all make it would be brutal, once you got out of that side you might not have much left for the 3 game championship series

the committee basically setup a SEC side and an ACC side of the bracket.

Hope to see Florida in Omaha though

I'd rather not. Some great games though.

After seeing our girls get bounced in the Supers I take nothing for granted. And I'm not concerned about who we have to play. It's the post season, there will be many really good teams. If not LSU it would just be another good team. And it will be really exciting as normal with UF v LSU. First we have to get there.

Clearly this is all because of Florida.

They lost 2/3 so they wanted best 3 out of 5. They lost that one, too, so they lobbied for the NCAA to give them an opportunity to get best 5 out of 7.

Yeah, I like our matchup against FSU. Their starting pitching is suspect and our mid-week guys pretty much shut them down all three games. They still have some nice talent though, that freshman catcher (Raleigh, I think?) is big time.

I kind of like the way this plays out as Florida's got some bonus baby arms that will be finding out about the draft around Tourney time which can always generate some interesting mental challenges.

On top of that, the smoke signals are coming up from Austin that Kevin O'Sullivan may be a prime target to replace Augie Garrido at Texas.

There's no doubt that I don't like anyone's pitching staff as much as I like Florida's and LSU's in that order. Not anyone in the country. But there's also no doubt that we've proven we can hit them and beat them.

Alex Box is one thing. Hoover is yet another. But if both teams make it to Omaha LSU will have a very, very significant advantage in terms of home-field-crowd advantage. On top of all of that, I'll go a little further...

Look at what LSU did to a future 1st Round pick versus Mississippi State on Saturday. We pounded out 12 hits and 6 runs. Not a single one of which went for or was driven in by, respectively, by an extra base hit.

That's right. 12 super solid singles. Just kept grinding away and putting great AB after great AB together and put tons of pressure on a multi-million dollar arm.

In year's past, LSU has always been known for great offense and power in spades. But since the move to the new Rosenblatt, we've found our bats silenced and our power surges go quiet, which prevented us from scoring a lot of runs and eventually, from us being bounced out of Omaha.

I don't care what stadium you're playing in on Earth. What the wind or the dimensions are like. If you can put together 12 singles and score 6 runs on a 1st Rounder, that type of simple, consistently successful production will beat anyone, anywhere.

I really, really like the way we're hitting going into the NCAA's. In specific, I think LSU may have one of the most advanced, consistently successful two-strike approaches in the batter's box that I've ever seen. It's past uncanny or streaky.

It's time to admit that Andy Cannizarro-our hitting coach-is just flat out fantastic with what he's done for a really young, really inexperienced but uber-talented group of kids at the plate.

Really psyched to start Tourney Time up this weekend!

I just hope to get there. worry about who we play then. all the teams that get there can beat each other at any given time.

I'm interested in seeing what SLU and Rice do in their 2/3 matchup in Baton Rouge this coming weekend. Rice's ace was his conference's Pitcher of the Year. But SLU has two really high-quality arms and also has a really high quality bat in the lineup (at least one anyway).

Rice may find itself in a bit of a dogfight if they go with their back line pitching versus Southeastern so their ace can face us and SLU throws either one of their Top 2 guys.

The Utah Valley 4 seed we're facing is 130th in the RPI and lost 2 of 3 to Seattle University...It's really hard to worry about them. I respect them as an opponent, but not scared by any stretch. Some of those 4 seeds have Friday/Saturday type arms in their ace slots and can give 1's trouble but this team just isn't comparable.

Can you guys just do your own thing without us for once? Jesus we play a 3 game series with you guys to close out the regular season yet we still end up in the same brackets in the postseason.

With FSU having a losing record on the road and having to face the gators in Gainsville will not be for the faint of hearts. The Noles will be wishing the NCAA had a Mercy Rule after 7 innings
