The entire ordeal is a joke. I understand us Tigers being excited about our team again (hopefully, we are working on fixing the ship). But whether the storm was hitting Gainesville or not, these young men have family that may be in areas that were being affected. I recall not being with my family during Katrina. Not knowing and not being able to reach them sucked.

They aired on the side of caution and I do not have a problem with it. TN should be more pissed than LSU. After how we started, if we win out and miss out because of this technicality, so be it. I'll be happy to end on the high note and look forward to next year.

true , but really not relevant in any way., That had nothing to do with getting the game played this past weekend. Nothing you said would stop the game from being played. Did their family members get seriously injured or hospitalized during the storm or something? Then whatever players had family members in that situation could have been excused from playing in the game.

Your on a big time college football team. Just because your house flooded or the roof blew off doesn't mean you don't play in the game. Besides, don't these players live in apartments or dorms for the most part and not at their family residence.
From what I heard, not a lot of people were killed or seriously injured in this hurricane.

LSU made every effort to get the game played.

This technically is not true. Some effort was made though.

well perhaps you could explain what more effort could have been made?

LSU offered to play in Gainesville, Baton Rouge or a neutral site. LSU offered to play at any of those places Saturday, Sunday or Monday. That pretty much covers the whole spectrum.

Now Joes giving it back to them. And that's awesome.

Joes not "giving it back to them" and it's not "awesome". He already made every reasonable attempt to get it done. The SEC commissioner chose other wise.

There was no reason to indefinitely postpone the game. All they had to do was bump it to Sunday and evaluate how things looked Friday night / Saturday morning. That should have been the plan on Wednesday and this entire debacle would have never happened.

Same goes for every high school and college that still played last weekend. What about teams not in Florida that had players from Florida...should their games have been cancelled too?

Airing on the side of caution would be having a backup plan....not changing your mind 2 days before the game

The decision should have been delayed, same as with those other schools. For whatever reason, the SEC wanted a decision on Thursday. UF had to make a choice based on the info they had at the time.

That might be the most intelligent and classy post I have read from any LSU fan on the subject matter.

actually it is short-sighted, ill-informed, and leaves out most of the relevant facts of the situation. Pretty ignorant post actually.

He's talking about the players concerned about their families. Okay, I don't think any rational person would disagree with that. However, on Wednesday, we weren't saying we should play the game on Saturday in Gainesville. That was Florida that was saying that was the only option. You people have short memories.
What should have happened, and I think what pretty much all LSU fans think should have happened, is that they should have waited to see what happened, and then schedule the game for Sunday. LSU offered to fly in and back out without taking up any hotel rooms because they did not want to stress the system. Florida is the one who chickened out. This is so freaking obvious, but you frigging tards just want to talk shite.

Aired it out, did they?

Well, to err is human after all.

If it is the SEC that made them decide on Thursday, then yes, I do fault them more than Florida. However, the fact remains, Florida was the one in front of the mic all week saying Saturday in Gainesville was the only option. Did they ever offer to wait?

Foley and Sankey are both equally to blame.

Alleva did all he could to make the game happen.
