USC is basically Miami west. If they get it rolling they will be a problem.
The issue they have that Miami doesn't/didn't is that Miami was able to build back up by stacking wins in the ACC before they were actually "back". USC doesn't get that luxury.
USC actually changed a lot about how they run their program in the past few years and I think it was in a positive direction, so its clear the issue is Riley.
Wouldn't hate him as OC after Buster gets a HC job, though....

As the most hated college football coach by Sooners it would take a some doing to get him back in Norman even if he were willing to accept a demotion to be with a Power 4 team.
The guy's a helluva a play caller and QB whisperer though his penchant for running gadget plays drove Sooner fans mad since they were essentially a toss-up.
I suppose Oklahoma could hire him as an OC if his contract included a massive penalty for leaving before the end of a season (USC paid a buyout of $4.5 million to OU in addition to the $10 million they paid him).
On paper it would make Oklahoma a formidable team, his offense and Venable's defense.
