The most amazing thing about this entire thread is that it shows how despite being hooked up with the hot young stripper LSU is still obsessed with the ex that left them 20 years ago

Question for bama and lsu fans, Saban obviously had a lot of say in the bama hire a couple years ago. Kiffin couldn't even get them to answer his calls but Saban has been clearly selling lane on lsu and lsu on lane. Did he not think lane was good enough for bama or does he think Lane would have won multiple championships there and hurt saban's legacy? I don't think Saban trusted lane with what he built at bama.

I think he thinks that Lane/LSU is a pretty good match. I also don't think any of us know exactly what input he had with Byrne, but I think he knew that Lane's experiences in Tuscaloosa added some negativity within the AD building that probably wouldn't be great at that point (maybe if some more time passed).

He also said LSU would be in the NC this year and Arch was the best QB since Tebow

So which days of the week do we believe what Finebaum says and which days do we say he is completely full of shite? It would be nice to have a schedule

Looks like Bama fans in denial of anything not naming them the top … outside statements carry more weight than any Bama fan does

It’s not LSU’s obsession that’s the issue.. it’s Bama fans denying anyone being considered better than them for anything. But everyone understands this but Bama fans

But you aren’t talking about better in this reality. You are talking about better in a hypothetical alternative reality. That’s kind of sad.

It's been 4 minutes since I posted a 12 minute video, try watching it first dumbass.

So our observations of, and listening to, Saban from 2007 to the present carries less weight than your 12 minute video of a Paul Finebaum opinion piece…which is obviously clickbait for the majority of LSU fans.

You sir, are a moron without peer.

But hey, maybe lsu can put up a statue of Saban with a plaque that says “could have done better here than Alabama.”

LSU fans every time Saban mentions them since he left:

He was a better, more consistent and less volatile coach at Alabama than he was at LSU. It isn't even debatable.

of course he was better.
he was older and more experienced.

to say he would have never learned it from anywhere other than NFL failures is probably a stretch.
part of what made Saban so great is that he never stopped learning.

and he would have been wildly successful at any of the top tier schools.

IT NEVER HAPPENED!! Bama fans don't have to deny anything. You all look like complete fools because Paul Finebaum said something. Do you also believe in the tooth fairy? I mean it's just as plausible.

Yes, he would have been. And we got lucky to get him when we did. LSU is a great program, and I think Kiffin will do good things there.

Bama fan insecurity about Saban helping Lane to get to LSU

You can't imagine how little any Bama fan cares about this. It's so weird that LSU fans desperately want them to care about it.

Well.. Nick never had back to back 10 win seasons in Baton Rogue in 5 years..

He had 16 or 17 in a row in Tuscaloosa

The insecurity of LSU is astounding. Nick Saban is the biggest thing to happen to the LSU program in history. He’s bigger than the program.

But… he’s not bigger than the Alabama program. He was built by Bama and the record proves it

I just heard from a guy who heard from a guy who heard Paul Bryant Jr. say that his dad won have won more at LSU than he did at Bama and he always wished he could have coached there. My God! I guess we have to take the statue down and ship it to Baton Rouge now. I'll be honest, I've been crying about it all morning.

Y'all should be building a Coach Elko statue. The arse beating he has given your team the past two years is why you now have Kiffin.

He also says he learned stuff in his failures in the NFL that directly led to him being a better coach once he came back to college

As an LSU fan, I am REALLY hoping that is what happens with Lane.
