Love to know how Duke finished #4 when they needed an amazing amount of luck just to reach the sweet 16 and then barely squeaked by Va Tech in the Elite 8. Whereas Auburn beat #4 Kansas in a blowout, #1 UNC in a blowout, #2 Kentucky, and lost to the National Champs by 1 on a controversial call.

Seems about right. Without that horrible injury Auburn would have won it all.

Nice run by Auburn, Tenn, and Kentucky

Congrats to LSU for finishing 4th in the SEC this season.

Chicken: Aggies, to be clear, you finished 7th in the SEC...

As I am sure Chicken will soon affirm, the coach's poll looked at your entire body of work and deemed you the 4th best SEC team, and you were slotted appropriately in the final poll of the season.

Didn't Duke beat them on a neutral court this year?

Rankings look fairly accurate to me.

Duke overrated AF and was all year. Great individual talent, but when Zion went down you saw all the flaws that team had that he was able to mask in the regular season and were exposed routinely in the tournament.

I assume the voters are balancing overall season performance with NCAA Tournament success.... In March, I have no doubt Auburn was the 2nd best team in the country (and still I'd say arguably #1 but we won't beat that dead horse).... but the fact remains that this team lost to Ole Miss twice, South Carolina, etc.

At some point you have to still look at the season as a whole. I think #5 behind UVA, TT, Michigan St., and Duke sounds about right.

I might would put Duke #3 though, and #4 would be a toss-up between Auburn and Michigan State.

Duke didn't make the Final Four and the team that eliminated them didn't make the national championship game.

Duke also only beat UCF by 1 point, and then VaTech by only 2, then lost to MSU.

Auburn went on to beat Kansas by 14, UNC by 17, Kentucky by 6, and then lost on the last play of the game to the national champs, in controversial fashion.

I guess they did have a better overall record. Just sucks seeing two ACC teams in the Top 5. Duke also lost to UNC twice this year, AU beat them by 17.

Tennessee also lost the in sweet 16..UK...played one more game.lost....Auburn should be ranked high in the final poll. LSU beat TN and UK head to head. The final poll USA today 25 has a few irregularities and discrepancies.
