Any computer ranking that has Penn state at #20 is broken beyond belief

I'm not sure if Texas is next in line or who is, but I agree the DEI additions shouldn't be there.
And I also agree SoS should matter more, which would probably have Texas in if I had to guess.

Power rankings vs season rankings.

So you think Texas with it's 9-3 record should be in above Alabama with it's 10-3 record?
No. But Texas should be in over Miami. Miami has the common opponent advantage (Florida) but has 2 bad losses (Louisville and SMU) and only 1 top 15 win where Texas has 3.

Indiana at #16 destroys your make belief SOS.
Who did IU play of note other than Oregon and tOSU (and only because it was the CCG)?
TIA.

Forgot about Miami, but yeah...along with the 2 DEI additions thats 3 that shouldn't be in over Texas. We're being punished for making the football experts who pumped us preseason look like fools.

Texas lost what the SOS indicated.

I thought this a lot through the season. The AP poll hated us. Having us behind OU after we smacked them in a neutral site was the most telling part.

If you believe BYU played a tougher schedule than Oklahoma, Georgia, Tennessee, and Missouri… Well, then bless your heart I guess.

Strength of Record

3, Texas A&M Aggies

6. Ole Miss Rebels
7. Texas Tech Red Raiders
8. Oklahoma Sooners
9. BYU Cougars
10. Alabama Crimson Tide
11. Vanderbilt Commodores
12. Texas Longhorns
Looks a lot better than the current committee decision. Let’s make this the standard and just roll with it.

Actually you do make a good point because I think the Big12 has somewhat of a bubble in their stats generally this year. I've been saying it all year and hoping it goes away, but doesn't look like it.
We need more games between conferences to pop the bubbles basically. Part of the reason I hate 9 game conference schedules and want to see more quality OOC games than less. These kinds of stats rely on those games being links between conferences.
The biggest thing that gives them the bump is playing Texas Tech twice, which it see's as a top5 team. Also I think it overvalues Utah and even BYU itself as part of that bubble.

Easiest in the SEC. This is why Lane is leaving. The 9 game schedule, and permanent opponents are going to end Ole Miss' easy cakewalks. He knew 7-5/8-4 is coming back so he struck while the iron was hot. Can't blame him for not wanting to be another Mark Stoops(who also benefited from soft schedules).

Ok, well if you don't understand how it works, then that's fine. Move along.

Mizzou finished with #20 SOS after hearing everyone squeal like stuck pigs about our supposed weak schedule.
I’m so over the stupid SOS arguments at the beginning of and during the season. It’s best to wait til everything is played before even debating SOS because so much of it is based on faulty preseason rankings.
Again, the whole debate is an f-ing waste of time.

Rebs also played 3 out of the 12 teams in the playoffs and went 2-1.
That one loss to GA we had the lead early in the 4th quarter..before the wheels came off.

Because you were all talking shite when you hadn't played any strong teams, and then you played the strong teams, you lost, and as a result of playing the stronger teams your SoS increased.
I mean that's the entire point people were pointing out your weak SoS to start with. To say you haven't played anyone yet. Now you can say you have played a tough schedule, and an 8-4 record to go with it.
