A lot of depth in the SEC. Definitely the best baseball conference in 2017.

I bet that one moron has UF 8th.

As dumb as people are, I'll take that bet.

Any poll that doesn't have the 8 teams in the CWS as their top 8 are bogus. I don't care if you were undefeated in the regular season, if you don't get in the CWS you aren't top 8. It's like if a final poll put Oregon St #1, it would be bogus.

eh, I'm not sure I agree with that. Baseball is a weird sport, and in the tournament format, anything can happen. When you play a 60+ game season, I don't think losing a couple of games invalidates your season if you don't make it to Omaha. Polls are meant to be subjective.

In 89 the baseball polls had A&M finish #2 in the nation, despite missing Omaha.

That's just not true man. For instance, I believe kentucky was a top 8 team in the country. I believe they would have beaten csf, texas am, and florida state had they played them in the supers. They just got really unlucky and got paired with louisville in the supers. Kentucky without a doubt was a top 8 team this year.

Sure florida won the title and they deserve it bc they won it on the field fair and square. However, that series would have been different had LSU not lost walker in the 2nd game of the cws and him not being able to return. That was a huge blow and it showed in the title series when we had to depend on arms that hadn't played much all season to start and hopefully pull out a win in game 1. It would have been alot tougher for florida to beat LSU if we had walker to throw against osu and prob in the first game against florida. There lot of hypotheticals that play into it, but florida beat a beat up and tired lsu pitching staff...that's just a fact. Congrats to them though on the title and they deserved it based on the games played and they won.

I could very easily make the argument that if Kentucky ends up that 8th national seed instead of a Stanford team that went home early, they had a solid shot at Omaha. But because the NCAA loves them some Louisville/Kentucky matchups, we essentially played a CWS matchup in the Super.
Kentucky very much deserves its ranking. Hell, they played half of the teams in Omaha and took series from at least two of them.

Yeah two of our best players were banged up and they played through it. Stop making excuses. Last night we went with a freshman making his first start against the winningest pitcher in LSU history. We heard it over and over. You had your pitching set up with Poche and Lange.

Wow, a whole lot of red chapped arse in your post.
Florida, in game 2 vs L6u's all time winning pitcher, pitched a freshman, who only had 2 starts all season, and beat you.
They beat LSU in the reg season series with each team throwing their top pitchers.

Can't argue against #1-5, especially the top 3. #6-15 are all interchangeable and Omaha most of the time comes down to seeding. You put Auburn, Vandy, State, USM, Kentucky, Texas, etc. in Arkansas shoes and they would be in the top 8 and Omaha. Kentucky, State, and Vandy are beat out by the top 5 to get to Omaha. Kentucky would have wiped the floor with FSU.

Not sure why you use L6U in a baseball thread. Pretty obnoxious.
Regarding the post you are responding to..Losing Walker was a huge blow. I mapped out what our pitching could be if we got to the finals, and the first game was always gonna be a bitch if we got there. Said it the night we lost to OSU for the record.
LSU was still right in both games. One of the regular season games was 1-0.
Dude, Florida was a great team. They won. We lost. shite happens like that.
Congrats to them. A Bama fan shouldn't even be talking shite about baseball. And it's sad to see football even be brought up in a baseball thread.
