Arkansas finished #5 last year in all the polls and didn't make the CWS.
Arkansas also had the #1 strength of schedule last year, so I think that played into a top 5 finish with no CWS appearance.

I agree. I am sure glad Arkansas wasn't in the other bracket and we had to play them instead of OU. Arkansas is damn good.

Me too. Their body of work was better than anyone else and should not be minimized over 1 rough weekend. While I love our ranking, UT deserves to be right below Mississippi.

If the poll was about douchebaggery and classlessness, then Yes, Tennessee would overwhelmingly be #1. But this poll is reflective of teams that actually won when it counted most and guess who gizzed their britches?

One thing that really doesn't matter is sports writer's opinions on which team is the best after they just finished the post season tournament. They figured it out on the field. Rankings are moot.

Not too bad for Schloss' first year. Judging by transfers and maturing freshmen, our pitching will be significantly better next year. Next step is to find out what happens with the MLB Draft.
