From what I understand he left here to try Nictating in the pros and was crap, he had backchannel lines opened to LSU, Asked if they'd let him return, LSU rebuffed him.....so he made it his personal mission to destroy lsu by any means necessary, he needed another sleeping giant that plays LSU every year.... His former secretary said,"if you know him you know he can never let LSU beat him because they told him no, it'd drive him crazy" my issue is the dirty tricks he's done to LSU recruiting

No, Bama fans didn't realize Bryant coached at Alabama. We all thought, like lsu fans do, that Bama's winning tradition started when lsu let Saban come to Alabama.
Alabama fans don't realize that Gene "Stomp on Faces" Stallings, Wallace "Huge Balls" Wade and Frank "The Viper" Thomas and several other great coaches ever coached at Alabama.
Alabama fans didn't realize, that through Thomas, their team had a direct coaching tree lineage link to Knute Rockne and thus to Coach Paul Bryant.
We seriously thought that, just like 99% of lsu fans, football started just like a decade or so ago.

That's an interesting, yet completely false interpretation.
Until Saban arrived at Alabama, there was virtually zero animosity shown towards Alabama by lsu fans.
Alabama had always been Big Daddy and kind of like a benevolent king that ruled lsu but treated them fairly and the two teams and fanbases had always gotten along fine.
There was no bitterness, no hatred, no dislike really because there was no real shared history other than complete domination.
To say that lsu fans hated Alabama before Saban arrived at Alabama is like saying that Purdue fans hate Ohio State. No, they don't hate them, they just exist alongside them and don't have any real animosity because what is the point.
Don't come onto this board and lie like a fricking dog, bitch. lsu hates Saban, not Alabama, because he lied to Miami fans and took another job without consulting with them and getting their approval first.

Disliked how he left LSU, was similar to Paul Dietzel for us old timers. Added insult to injury by returning to Alabama.
