Do anti trust laws apply in a voluntary amateur league?

So many here are suffering from the Dunning-Kruger effect. Put simply it is a cognitive bias where people with low ability tend to overstate their competence. Time to go sit in the corner boys and get ready for your spanking.
Yes, Antitrust Laws APPLY to the Southeastern Conference as well as all collegiate athletic conferences.
Antitrust laws are designed to maintain competition and prevent monopolistic practices in markets, including sports leagues. The SEC operates in a competitive environment, which means these laws apply to it. One key point: These laws also act to prevent actions that could HARM competition, such as COLLUSION or monopolistic behavior among member institutions.
I think the SEC and these so-called 15 conference members who are participating in a dog pile could have more serious issues to consider.

That sucks, did it get all in your purse? A bottle costs around a sack of crawfish, so I hope you salvaged a little.

Whaling is now illegal, even in the boondocks and bayous of Louisiana. I would have expected someone in the compliance department to point this out to you.

In no way shape or form is the SEC considering kicking LSU out. It’s so ridiculous it’s almost insulting to type

The presidents and chancellors of the 16 SEC member institutions. But that number may change.

Of this..

He will step down in disgrace. The environment he's created has made it very clear he’s not interested in being a un biased administrator / steward of the league.

This targeted, coordinated attack against LSU using back Chanel leaks to the media and other SEC power players is collusion and violates anti trust laws Those are his words, not mine. Sankey will have to answer in Court after all this blows over.

That being said LSU as a whole is laughing about the whaling and gnashing of teeth and saying we’ll get “expelled from the league”. It’s a joke and screams of fear and desperation. This may be the biggest melt this board has ever seen.

if you imagine Kim Mulkey's voice reading this - it makes it almost believable -

I dont think nor hope they do either.

If they do, on to the next one. There are some ACC programs that would jump on the opportunity.

Sankey is a weak POS and toast.

Look cuz, money talks and bullshite walks, nobody gives a flying frick what a bunch of school presidents say about anything here, they are glorified overpaid, bureaucrats, and they do what they are fricking told by the money elite at every SEC institution I can think of five guys I could call respective schools that have 1000 times more powerful power than those dumb motherfrickers because they write the goddamn checks.

His week bullshite game so now put the SEC in a position where they are going to likely be writing checks for at least 10s millions of dollars over this bullshite because he’s put them in a Catch-22 position. No matter what now they’re likely going to either be liable to either LSU or these players or they’re going to have to back down and eat a scenario. It looks like shite. And for you motherfrickers that don’t know super rich people let me tell you something. Nothing pisses them off more than having to write checks for millions of dollars over some stupid motherfricker whipping his little 4 inch penis out for a dick measuring contest it will not be tolerated by the big money people of any fricking school.

When you have more money than God, the one thing you will not tolerate is to be embarrassed and there’s no way in hell this isn’t gonna end up being embarrassing to them.

I said it last week, Sanky is done

So, the schools that just voted 15-0 in favor of the rule are going to vote to fire the commissioner? Okay.

Resigning in disgrace after being embarrassed nationally is different than being fired.

Those puppets will jump everytime any billionaire alum calls. They are going to cost the SEC at least 10s of millions. Do you think any of these overpaid bureaucrats are going to pay the fricking million two million to 10 million per school no they’re gonna get all the goddamn phones and call the big money alumni to pay this and they’re gonna say they’ll write the check but they want that piece of shite, Sanky gone and he will be gone faster than a shite after eating a bunch of spicy Mexican food.

Since LSU abstained from voting, do they dodge litigation after all this when the SEC gets the pants sued off them?

This is how you get kicked out of the SEC. This attitude right here.

Is that what is happening at LSU? Is it the governor or a rich booster who is behind this?

What's disgraceful is a hometown judge tossing rules out to benefit their favorite team.

Sanky isn't out on a limb here.
